This is about Yoko Ono, who wrote the vast majority (all) of the songs and wrote the lyrics, contained in these six CD's, and produced or co-produced most of the songs. I bought "Onobox" and "Approximately Infinite Universe," along with the books "Grapefruit," "Yoko Ono: The Other Rooms," and "Yes, Yoko Ono," which are interesting and one of a kind. The only music I had bought before was "Double Fantasy."
Yoko Ono's songs are amazing, just listen. This music sounds as fresh and avant-garde today as the day it was recorded. It could have been called "Onobox/Lennonbox." John's influence can be heard and felt throughout some of the music. John played on and produced/co-produced some of the songs included here. In fact on "Kite Song" (CD two) you can hear Yoko and John talking at the end of the song. (John was working on his song "Grow Old With Me," an incredible love song to Yoko. [See "Give Up," two CD's, by "The Postal Service" for a beautiful version of this song on the second CD, John left us only "demos."] I read the lyrics to this song and said what an incredible love song.) Disc Five are songs Yoko wrote after John left us, and as expected the tone is a little different. Disc six are songs Yoko wrote when John was in L.A. for about three years.
Thank you to all the incredible musicians who performed making this great, incredible music. Buy it and enjoy!
