Of course disabled students drop out frequently. Consider going to school when taking care of your disability alone is more than a full time job. There may be extreme pain involved. You try to study and perform in those conditions. #disability

Disability is political. It’s not just about personal experience or no-no words or healthcare. It’s about structural ableism, the bigotry of low expectations, and the medical & government programs that keep us alive. I desperately wish more publications understood that.

Here's something we don't discuss much. Life expectancy is in direct correlation to income. If you're rich you're likely to live a much longer and healthier life than if you're poor. Poverty kills. Our job: build a health care system and economy that work for all, not just a few.

Newsflash: The default mode in our society is not neutral, it’s ableist. The majority of systems and tools are not built for people with disabilities. So unless you are intentionally striving to make your work accessible, you are excluding people. #hardtruth
