this was a clash between native Turks of Urumqi and occupying Han Chinese. Similar incidents you have seen in Italy, Vietnam etc. This is not about Islam, but against Chinese invasion.

Stop lying. Turks aren't native to Urumqi, Oirat Mongols are. Urumqi means "beautiful pasture" in their language.
Hans settled the region after the Dzungar genocide.
Not a single mosque existed there before 18th century. Oirats are Vajrayana Buddhists.
