This is why Turkey's going bankrupt. Its military expenditures (see image) have increased sharply in recent years. Meanwhile, Turkey's GDP has been contracting since 2013, its FDI has gone down since 2016, & its forex reserves have plummeted markedly in the last couple of years.

So if you're following how Turkey plays the Middle East and Europe through its "crisis-a-month" strategy, you'll notice in May it escalated in Libya, then in June bombed northern Iraq, now will be back to Libya it seems in July. Every month brings new military invasion/crisis

Lots of sabotage operations have been carried out in both Iran and Turkey over the past few days. In Iran, Israel is behind the sabotage operations. In Turkey, nobody knows for sure who's behind them.

Punishing Hongkongers isn't a bright idea. In any case, China doesn't care about these useless sanctions. If the rest of the world prefers doing trade with China to doing trade with the US, then the sanctions will be meaningless. This ain't Iran.
