ジョンソン首相は新型コロナウイルス対策に苦慮する国家のリーダーのひとり。イギリスは国内に多くの感染者と死者を出している国のひとつです。しかも自らも感染し、一時はICUに入ったと伝えられる重篤な症状だったようです。
その間ガールフレンドが、ふたりの第一子の出産を控えていました。そしてジョンソン首相が退院してまもなく、ふたりは息子の誕生を迎えています。
公私ともに起きた難局を、同時に乗り切らなければならないという、非常に稀な経験をしたジョンソン首相。この数か月の間に起きた、個人的な経験と公的な役割の衝突を描くドラマは、フリーマントル、パッセンジャー、レボリューション・フィルムが共同制作します。
