Hey,
I use torrents very often, but I'm curious, how do you actually create a torrent of a file that you have?
This could be phrased into a more broad question about how bit torrent handles clients trying to get a torrent, but my particular case is a bit special:
I have downloaded "TorrentA", which is a somewhat rare file with a ratio of less than 1, usually 0. Chances are that no one will ask for it for a long time.
On the other hand, I have "TorrentB", which is a widely popular file with a ratio that gets quickly above 1 and usually people leeching it.
Now, my question: If someone wants to get "TorrentA" but "TorrentB" is keeping my client busy, will the system/client (Using deluge) prioritize the less shared/known stuff, or is working on a first-come-first-served basis?
I'm asking because honestly, I would rather share the "popular" torrent to a ratio of 1-2 and then stop it to allow people get the weird stuff (If there's someone), but if the system will take that into consideration, I can just leave everything be and only delete files basing in storage space.
Hu all Is there any recommender site for books torrent?
Just moved over to iOS and looking for an app to manage my Transmission torrent downloads. Any recommendations?
I have no idea what has happened, but I cannot seed torrents anymore. I did not change any settings. I didn't do anything at all. But the last couple of days, I just can't seed at all. I can download PERFECTLY fine. My upload speed outside of qbittorrent is COMPLETELY normal. I know for a fact there are peers ready to connect. Every once in a while, one of them will connect VERY briefly, as in a second or two, and then promptly disappear without having transferred any data (or possibly a few kilobytes). I cannot understand what is going on, please someone point me in the right direction. I'm using the latest version of qbittorrent. Thank you!
I was using utorrent ever since i stared using torrent, recently decided to use qbittorrent. But when ever i used to to start download it used to kill my router and restart the router. So wanted to check again with utorrent if i would have the same problem but didnt.
Was it the settings that messed up my connection?
My global max connection was 500 with 20mbps up and down
Also tried to change max connection to 200 didnt work, back to utorrent and it works perfectly fine
I've kind of watched too many movies to count, over 120 I know. I just want the info to get the number right. Grazie
I tidied up my seedbox a little through filezilla by moving some files into specific named subfolders, now rutorrent is showing an error on the files I moved.
How can I 'point' rutorrent to the new location of the file so it can keep me updated on ratios etc?
Hello there, i should say i only use magnet link for torrents, which most of time dont come with trackers to find peer connections, so its all about DHT, PeX to find peers. I've always used utorrent and somewhat it works but i wanted something like qbitorrent for freedom. I've tried now qbitorrent but find out its has high difficult to find peers in the wild. For example i was uploading file in Utorrent to someone, then closed it and started qbittorrent with same file sharing and it cannot find any peers after some hours online, so i move back to utorrent and voi'la, the peer is still there waiting to download. It's often happens with multiple torrents i have which has single peers.
Is there some suggestion about that?
When going over my seedlings, I noticed that all the torrents using tracker.openbittorrent.com:80 are not working. I googled this tracker and learned that is has been down for some time. I added tracker.opentrackr.org:1337 as a replacement because I think it is the migrated tracker. Am I correct in doing this and will it eventually work?
I don’t want it to use too much of it since my WiFi only allows a certain amount every month. Anyone know about how much it uses?
My router has DNS configured as 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8. My phone has private DNS set to dns.google.
torrentz2.is resolves but is stuck on "DDoS protection by Cloudflare". UPDATE: working.
I have files stuck at near completion and was wondering if I use a different torrent downloader will help to finish the download. Any advice appreciated. Very new to torrent and still discovering what it can actually do. Thank you
Using qBittorrent, PIA for VPN, correct port forwarded, confirmed reachable. I created a new torrent, added some trackers, they show working, started it seeding it last night, and it's showing Peers 0 (22) but nothing has shared. No bytes sent. I don't have any problems downloading torrents from others, and I always seed those back without issue. What could be causing torrents I created to not seed?
Or are those not real connections? I submitted an app to a site to upload the torrent to but it hasn't been approved yet. How did those peers even find the torrent I created if it hasn't been submitted anywhere? The tracker, I assume, but not sure how you search a tracker to find content.
so I have used qbitorrent for awhile and have had nothing but exceptional experience with it however recently it has appeared lack luster and just have some questions
so before when starting my file it would within a few seconds max out download speeds at 12.1-12.9mib/s and stay there recently However its become very erratic going to 12.9 then jumping to 8.0 then back up and back down so my question is why the inconsistency?
Does anyone know why im getting strange roller coaster speeds when using latest version of qBitttorrent app? My speed goes to 35mb per second and then jumps down to 1mb per second and two seconds later back to 35mb and just a second later back to 1mb.
Is there a setting to fix this?
I do know that the download stream isnt always the same, but these jumps are huge. Its like it stops downloading a second and then jumps back to max speed and back to stop again. My temp folder and download folder is on a SSD drive.
This graph shows what the download speeds like look: https://imgur.com/4aNWEbQ
My current advance settings: https://imgur.com/a/BDwg3Pr
Edit: It seems to be fine with lower speeds but unstable at higher. Check this graph: https://i.imgur.com/MVbtg38
I tried some website and it doesn’t seem to work
All torrent search sitrs are giving me a;
NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID
Is this public wifi compromised or something?
Hello all,
I am currently downloading a 177GB torrent containing 180 AVI files using deluge. At about 40% completion I curiously selected the a new location on my external SSD. I then regretted that move and selected the original 'Downloads' Folder in Windows. Its now at 55% and I have noticed that on my SSD the file is there and says that the file is 176GB containing 180 files. The file in the downloads says 55GB. Am I going to run into troubles when the file is completed? I wish I hadn't messed around and would like to know the consequences of what I have done and how to proceed. Any advice?
All the best,
BB
so ,im looking here on the peer list in utorrent and theres this peer in the list its showing that me alone already uploaded 5x+ the torrent size to him but hes still on 0% ,
how can that be possible ? is there any error happening ?
his ip is from usa , using bitTorrent 7.10 , and hes still downloading at 1MB/s % dont change from 0 never
Me and my brother both seed from the same computer. We both often look to see what's seeding. Is there anyway I can hide a specific torrent?
Hi, I recently switched from qbittorrent to deluge because for some reason I found myself unable to download torrents from all of the private tracker sites I use. It's weird because the problem just occurred one day without me changing any settings as far as I could tell (the status for each torrent would just say "not working")... I tried updating to a new version but the issue persisted. Anyway, after messing around with different setting tweaks I tried downloading deluge and lo and behold, all the torrents were able to download.
I'm not super keen on the deluge UI though because it seems so minimal and I don't see a way to do things like:
add more info columns to the main window (i.e. it shows torrent name/size/progress/up speed/dl speed/eta, but not stuff like total uploaded, total downloaded, date added, etc. which I used to see in qbittorrent). Also, is there a way to show the total ul/dl speed in the deluge icon in the dock? I always did that in qbit/utorrent so I could check activity while keeping the main window minimized.
I also used the labeling plugin but I can't actually create new labels because the client doesn't seem to respond to right clicking on my mac (I usually use control+click).
I'm also curious about whether I can expect most of the plugins to work on mac? I wanted to use StreamProtocol but that one seems to only be available for windows. Similarly, I tried following advice from another thread about how to use dark mode on the client, but copy/pasting the command ("defaults write org.m0k.transmission NSRequiresAquaSystemAppearance 0") into terminal didn't seem to do anything...
At the end of the day, it does the main job I need it to do, so I don't plan to go through the pain of trying to find yet another client or going through more frustrating debugging around qbittorrent. But yeah I would appreciate any advice for using deluge on mac -- how to fix these issues and make the ui and functionality more friendly overall.
Thanks!
When I try to download any torrent, in any torrent client, it gets 0b/s and never downloads. Help.
