You wanna know what's actually called demographic change? Share of natives in Gilgit-Baltistan falling to mere 53% is. Natives were 98% in CHT in 1947 but are less than 35% now. What's the share of Kashmiris in the Kashmir Valley? It's the same. Share of KPs went down though. twitter.com/LAMStandley/st…

So, I just read that Sheikh Abdullah gave Indian citizenship to 100k+ Pashtuns in the Kashmir Valley in 1954. Muslims refugees from Xinjiang and Tibet that fled the communist takeover have also been legalized in the state.

The population growth of Gilgit-Baltistan has been 2X that of Indian J&K. The massive population boom has been because of settlers (mostly Pashtun) that were brought in by Pakistani leaders like Zia to overturn the Shia majority of the area.
