This could barely hold a half stick of butter. Also, check this out. I have one. It's great for a lot of stuff. Lodge LMP3 Cast Iron Melting Pot, Pre-Seasoned, 15-Ounce

Answer:
My skillets are three inch. I believe the number at the end indicates the size of the skillet. Hope this answers your question. I bought mine to make individual brownies for desserts. I will serve them warm from the oven with a scoop of ice cream.

Answer:
I never have, but if I did. I would use a lower heat setting due to the cast iron heat retention. Also a touch of oil on the bottom before you put in the dough. It well take a little longer to heat then a cookie sheet.

I drove 16 miles one day to buy a couple of them and they're no longer in stock and also not in the Lodge order catalog. My plan: to use them for the scrambled egg breakfast sandwiches except, I like the results much thinner by using only half the mixture in each skillet. The other half can be popped into a little ziplock sandwich bag and steamed for another breakfast. They're also great to make little mini-meatloaf servings for one or two people. No need to supersize any of our portion sizes for meals. Baking cookies is another option. To prevent over-browning, you could set the mini-skillets on either a heavy duty baking sheet or, better yet, I have a Lodge square griddle to set them on (same as a do with my Dutch Oven artisan bread). When you must use higher heat levels, it's not pleasant to have a hard or even burned crust on the bottom. By the way, my delightful 6 inch Lodge Skillet gets a whole lot of use. It's perfect to make a great breakfast burrito. Cooking most everything in cast iron cookware is not only fun, it tastes a whole lot better. I maintain the cookware very carefully now by re-seasoning with Crisbee Cast Iron Seasoning (also sold here on Amazon). Best product on the market to keep your c.i. cookware non-stick 'n slick ;) see less Our local outdoors store in Bellingham, WA, Yeager's used to have these in stock.
