Lens Crafters - Lansing Mall - Told me that I had to pay for frames for my child because the insurance would not pay. I paid $119.95. They never told me that they also billed the insurance company and received payment from them too for the $119.95. When I found out...

A so-called representative of Lenscrafters said on here for people to stop buying their cheap frames and lenses if you don't want them to break. Well, you know what, Lenscrafters? How about you stop selling cheap lenses and frames that snap like a twig. If you sell inferior materials, of course you're going to have complaints. Or do you only stand by your most expensive products? I've had plenty of experience with Lenscrafters. Your company is made up of a bunch of hypocritcal liars. I know about the frames scam where, if I need repair or replacement of my frames, they are conveniently discontinued. Also, when I asked if the scratch-proof coating that was wearing away could be completely removed, I was told it was not possible. Oh really? I took the same glasses to a small eyeglass store which had its own on-premises lab and they had NO PROBLEM removing the coating. Crooks and liars!!! I'll make sure the word gets around and I will celebrate the day I hear your POS company is filing for Chapter 11!!!

I went in to have my eyes checked and get new contacts, the Dr was on vacation and a fill in was there. She did the exam and sent me home with some contacts to try. I made an appointment this week, after waiting 20 minutes the poor recpectioist comes out an tells me the DR. will not see me because he did not do the intial work up. If this clown can not trust his stand in than he needs to either screen better, swallow his ego or grow-up. In any case I would recommend that you stay way from this store

Upon leaving Lenscrafters on Route 10 in East Hanover, NJ I realized that the prescription in my new glasses and sunglasses was not strong enough in one eye. I called to confirm the prescription that they put in the frames and they told me it was 3.50 in both eyes. This was incorrect- my prescription is 3.50 in the left and 3.75 in the right eye. I told them this and they denied it, saying that is not what the prescription said. I knew they were wrong, but they told me I had to go get another prescription from my eye doctor. When I brought them the "new" prescription (which was 3.50 and 3.75) I asked to see the original. They went in the back and produced the original which was obviously altered! Someone with completely different handwriting and a different pen attempted to change the 3.75 to a 3.50. And it was a really poor attempt. I brought this altered version back to my eye doctor's office where they were shocked and said they would never let a prescription go out like that. They also had a photocopy of the original to prove it. Lenscrafters continues to blame everyone else and denies the entire thing. I will NEVER do business with them again. Not only did they waste a lot of my time and energy on this, they have also told me they could make a pair of sunglasses that they could not do- TWICE! I just thought everyone should know about this. They cannot be trusted.

lenscrafters told my husband that they couldn't file the insurance electronically and didn't have time to fill out the paperwork manually and then told my husband well if you pay for it up front we will give you 50% off the lenses....we are out of pocket almost 400 bucks now and have to file our own claim which will take about six months to complete.....i think its a scam to get customers to pay up front so the don't have to wait six months to get the money from the insurance company...i am super pissed

We live in Santa Monica, CA, and had British friends on vacation who needed prescription sunglasses right away, so we took them to our local Lenscrafters store on 321 Wilshire Blvd. Our friends bought 3 pairs of glasses, including one with a prescription they had brought from England, and another that required an eye exam at the Lenscrafters store. Our friends were not impressed with the lack quality and thoroughness of the eye exam, but it got worse: when they picked up the glasses, (1) the lenses were progressive instead of solid color as specifically requested; (2) the pupil distance was wrong; (3) one of the lenses' strength was completely wrong. All despite multiple "measurements" by a sales representative who couldn't care less. We took the glasses back to Lenscrafters. They agreed to refund the lenses, but not the exam, which they called "unrefundable service". Yet, they could not make the refund at the store because their computers were down! They told us to arrange the refund by phone the next day. When we called to arrange the refund over the phone, the person we spoke to had no clue what to do, and told us to go back to the store. Unfortunately, our friends were flying away that night, so we went to the store for them, and the store manager did indeed refuse to refund the eye exam -- telling us stories about how service is non-refundable, how she had similar problems with her dentist, etc. We got written a proof of the refund on the lenses for our friends, but we are taking this matter all the way up Lenscrafters' food chain if necessary, as our -- and our friends' -- experience with them has been a disaster from the moment we stepped into their store. We feel genuinely embarrassed to have recommended Lenscrafters to our friends, who didn't have much time to visit Santa Monica/Los Angeles, and wasted a ridiculous amount of it dealing with Lenscrafters' appalling A-Z ineptitude -- while also wasting money. We will never recommend Lenscrafters to anyone ever again, and we certainly won't entrust our eyesight with that low quality, low expertise, and low service chain. There are plenty of professional, better-value alternatives in and around Santa Monica, so avoid Lenscrafters at all costs!

Lens Crafters lies! Shops of Mission Viejo Mall, July 30, 2010 LENS CRAFTERS is rude to young mother, infant son in stroller and grandmother!!! My daughter and I attempted to take advantage of the advertised "50% off Lenses" at the Shops at Mission Viejo Mall Lens Crafters and were rudely told frames needed to be purchased - even though there was no mention of the frame purchase in any of its advertising! The 'Retail Manager' asked if we thought he should write it on his bright red shirt that had huge lettering stating "50% OFF LENSES" written on the front! He pointed with his pen under the letters in the most sarcastic voice!

I went to lenscrafters today in Taunton, MA and the guy was rude and agravating. I asked what kind of special do you have going on? He said 50% off, any thing else? but he did this with an attitude like your bothering me. i said yes do you think you will have my record on file? he said maybe why? well these glasses that i have got these big bloches on them and its giving me a headach. he said you spilled some kind of chemical on them. i did not but any way. i said can you look it up so i can get a new pair. he said no we wont have it its to old you need an exam. what? to old you dont put this on the computer. what ever dude I would rather pay full price some ware else than to give them a single dime of my money

I was under the impression, from advertisements, that Lenscrafters was the best place to go for inexpensive eyewear, as well as good eye doctors. I had an exam by one doctor, then had to have a repeat exam, because the first doctor got all my information incorrect, lens were wrong, strength was wrong.... then after seeing the second doctor, they ordered my glasses I picked out. Those glasses were sent back five times, and it took a total of five months to receive my glasses. I would NEVER return to this place!!! Besides, the prices are very high and their work is not that good.

Lenscrafters Fashion Place Mall was way under staffed yesterday. Lynn a sales representative said they had 10 employees there the day before. However, that was not the problem, the problem was 12 people where waiting and only two representatives where working the day in question. Later Lynn admitted the manager, AMY was suppose to be there but did not show up. While helping a client the would drop everything and spend 15 minutes on the phone. I was taught the customer in front you with money in hand should be taken care of first, after all a standing customer took all the time to come down and conduct business. Lynn and Amy disagree apparently. When I mentioned hey were under staffed, Lynn got very belligerent and rude, probably from being stressed. I asked for the home office address and or phone number and she refused to give the information. Oh .. yes I went down to have and ear piece replaced and they did not have any replacement parts. I did go to Gateway and they seemed to know how to keep customers happy.

Lenscrafters, Mall of Prince Georges. Only 2 incompetent staff working there! overpriced, waited a month to get glasses that one of the incompetent staff told me had been sitting there for 2 weeks, after I repeatedly called and was told that they were not back. I told you staff was incompetent...why would they tell the customer that your glasses have been sitting here for 2 weeks!I am not going to go into detail about this store, but I will say...you will never, ever get another dollar of mine! Your "quality assurance" is defined as - Staff digs through a pile of blue trays, pulls out a pair of glasses and sprays on a solution. Then wipes them down and put on your face. Then they act like you are taking to long while trying to see if they are okay. Wonder why you have so many complaints...pay your staff a decent salary, and they will perform better! Remember..."word of mouth is the best advertisement that any store can get"! I should have had a clue when a lady made a comment about waiting a long time and walked out! I know someone from your staff will respond to this...I don't really care what you say. Just like I read what others had to say, after I ordered glasses. I hope someone will read this and see what they are getting in to before they order glasses!

Tried to buy a pair of sunglasses with prescription lenses--after two visits and dealing only with 'sales people' lenses were NOT correctly prepared. First person failed to even mark the center of focus on the lenses which I found out was strictly amateur hour. Strictly a cut rate rate outfit that spends the money on marketing and sales and leaves quality of service a distant third. Bound to fail eventually once the consumer dissatisfaction builds to the tipping point. The primary reason I went there was the convenience of location near my work but it turned out to be no convenience.
