The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts is one of seven schools in the United States to be named a Grammy Signature Gold School for its music education programs.

This is the third Grammy nod for HSPVA, which won the designation from the National Academy for Recording Arts and Sciences in 2000 and 2003, as well.

The school is receiving a $5,000 general grant and $5,000 Gibson Guitar Grant as part of the honor.
