Leo was such a warm hearted and loving guy. I was so blessed to have met him and spend so much time together. From making cookies, to teaching me cooking secrets, to our conversations at dinner every Thursday night. I will never forget how he touched my heart so dearly.

We were very blessed to live next door to the Scherr family for many years. Leo and Abbie Scherr were the best role models for us and our two sons. They were outstanding parents, great teachers, and devoted Christians.
We will cherish our memories of them forever — the sounds of Abbie’s students playing on the piano — while Leo was creating yummy smells in the kitchen — both sounds and smells wafting through the air — into our house next door.
Our love and condolences to Tim, Beth, Fred, Lisa, and the grandchildren.

Thank you Leo for your service to you community. We never got to know you personally, but your Scouting legacy lives on through Lisa, Lain, and Collin in Cross Plains. We are a better Troop because of the values you passed on to your children and grandchildren.

Mr. Scherr taught me Algebra II and Trigonometry in 1970 and 1971. I can remember he came to class every day excited to teach the day’s lesson. When I was stumped on a particular problem (which was quite often) he was patient and worked with me to understand the concept. By the time graduation came along I had a solidly foundation in the mathematics.
I attribute much of my academic success the following year at West Point where we took math classes six days a week to the patience and positive attitude imbued in me by Leo Scherr. Thank you Leo, you made a difference.Pete Marion - January 03 at 01:06 PM -
