Never in my life have I ever thought I would come out praising EA on something (hear me out first) , but I have to say that the general direction Blizzard took with Wc3 reforged can learn something from what EA did with C&C Remaster.

Everything is this trailer is the result of EA producers working side by side with the community in a true partnership fueled by (mainly) a real passion for the game. Hell some of these features were developed by the community.
A producer one day showed up on reddit (shortly after the release of C&C Rivals, a mobile game that was unanimously hated by the C&C fandom) and started a conversation with the community on remastering the game, we the community had 24/7 access to them on reddit & discord. The producers were literally so active with the community they would ask us for feedback , ideas , things we want , things we didnt…etc on a near semi weekly basis , the conversation was ongoing for years; we got music updates, art updates, level updates, progress reports on levels and codes ,videos created and so much more including which studios to partner with and who to bring on the project, the level of transparency in this remaster project blew my mind away. EA alongside Petroglyph really went beyond what so many of us expected and as a customer and C&C fan that feels right. I can tell you right now they are guaranteed my money on release day so far.
Where was all of this for WC:R ???
This community is as much if not more passionate about this game, no less talented either. How could blizzard not see the value of working side by side with the community to create WC:R ? I don’t see any value gained by the approach Blizzard took which felt very distant. As a life time WCIII fan that didn’t feel right.
Blizzard, Please look into this example of what EA did with their C&C remaster. I think moving forward if you truly want to fix this game and bring back WCIII in its true glory and give the fans what they want. This is the approach you should take. It’s not too late to make this right.
Have faith in your fans & your communities. Start working with them instead of pushing onto them
