ShadowFox - a dark theme for Firefox

r/ShadowFoxCSS

First off, WOW! Spent entirely too long searching up information to make FF dark. This is awesome!

The Show All History and the Show All Bookmarks pages are still a glaring beacons in the night trying to remove my retina. Can they not be styled, did it get missed, or is my machine doing it's own thing....AGAIN!?

Admittedly I rarely use them, but when I do...ooofph!

I am using Firefox 72.0.2 (64-bit) in MacOS and text appears white in text fields. This also happens with buttons. Is there a fix for this?

Hi everyone. I'm trying to find the code/name for the areas in the top right-hand corner of the browser (Close Minimize, etc). I wish to make the entire bar the same colour and have the colour code. I know how to change it i just dont know the name of the part to search for.

OK I am new to posting on redit and the shadowfox forum so hopefully I wont make a mess of this, if I am posting a question in the wrong place sorry in advance for my ineptness lol. anyway I have had shadowfox for years and I never had a single issue with it on firefox, lately firefox has been not allowing me to copy and paste text on webpages or urls, most of the time it would not even allow me to select the text, so the firefox trouble shooting guide said to refresh firefox and that would solve the problem. I refreshed and lost shadowfox completely, I have installed it uninstalled it over and over and even did a clean install of firefox and then installed a clean version of shadow fox with absolutely no luck. I am running firefox version # 71.0 and if shadowfox is installing for some reason it is not putting a dark background on any of the drop down context menus or menus that drop down from the folders I have on my bookmarks tool bar. all the menus are blinding white to the point that I can barely read the black text. I use this computer to stream programming on a 60 inch flat screen which makes that blinding white back ground intolerable and near unreadable. does anyone have any ideas what I am doing wrong so it is not blacking out the menus? enclosed is a screen shot to show what I am talking about. any help anyone can give me would be appreciated more then you can ever imagine. I have seen other posts about shadowfox not installing on version on FF# 69 but I am guessing that there has been a better work around created in 2 aditional releases. anyway if anyone can help me get my dark menus back I would greatly appreciate it, oh my options box and customization page have a dark background so that made me believe that shadowfox did install, but something is keeping my menu bar and bookmarks tool bar from going dark both have the white background.

Hello. The text that describes the details of each add-on is too dark to be seen. They're there, though, because they show up when I highlight the space where the text should be.

How do I fix this problem?

Hello Guys,

so I'm trying to style a page of pretty specific extension I use for work. What I tried is putting this inside chrome\ShadowFox_customization\userChrome_customization.css

@-moz-document url("moz-extension://a09abc6c-961c-4d4e-ab1c-00xxxxxxxxx/scriptsync.html") {
  html, body, tr {
      background:#313131!important;
      color: #e2e5e8!important;
  }
}

Also I did the reinstall/update of Shadowfox, still no success :-/

Shouldn't ShadowFox change scrollbar to dark color and compact size? (FFX69.0.3)

The eye-stabbing white flashes on page load is still happening even after installing ShadowFox. How can I fix this?

This may be a bug. Google map layers (map, terrain, satellite, hybrid) become blocked by the "new tab" grey when open within Caltopo.

www.caltopo.com

Top right hover, select any Google Base Layer from dropdown.

Uninstalled Shadowfox and it functions properly, reinstalling breaks it again. Any ideas/tips? Thanks!

Title says it all, is there any way to get this running on android for fennec or regular firefox? Or if there is any alternative for android I would appreciate the help.

Hey there, normally I create a userContent.css and paste the code :root{ scrollbar-color: rgb(255,69,0) rgb(50,50,52) }

*{ scrollbar-width: thick }in there, but I don't know where to paste the code with ShadowFox, can someone guide me and tell me which line do I paste the code?

Hi, the Pocket menu is not themed, is this a bug or do I have to set it somewhere?

It looks great too! It covers most of the ground that shadowfox has covered forever, but there are still a few patches of white here and there. Also, the uBlock Origin add-on is not covered. I would love to see a Lite version of Shadowfox that just picked up the slack.

"browser.in-content.dark-mode", true

I doubt this will get much traction as this has less than 150 people, but I'll try anyway. The Shadowfox style that's here doesn't install with Stylish. I tried it with both a clean Firefox and Chrome and it just throws errors.

Is it just me or does the Bottom Tabs (macOS) and Dark scrollbar customization no longer work? I am using Firefox 67b16 on a Mojave.

Hi, I want to install shadowfox on my firefox 60 on debian 9, and I want to know how can I remove shadowfox in case I have problems. There isn't a guide to remove the "mod".

Hello,

First, thank you for helping to save my eyes. I'm a big dark mode fan and discovering your work was a game changer as far as FF was concerned.

Now maybe a draft question, but I also use the Dark Reader add-on to restyle websites. Is shadowfox an alternative to DR or are they complementary?
