Wallpapers for All Android Versions
In each major update to the Android operating system, Google adds a new set of standard desktop backgrounds. We decided to collect all the Android wallpapers in one article. Note: under the cut you will find many high-resolution images (a lot of traffic). All pictures in this article are clickable.
Update 1.5 Cupcake was quite large and significant for the development of the mobile platform Google. Therefore, this version of the system received quite a few beautiful standard backgrounds for the desktop. The main emphasis was placed on nature species.
The next three major updates under Android 1.6 Donut, 2.0 Eclair and 2.2 Froyo had a similar set of backgrounds for the desktop. With each update, this set was complemented by several wallpapers. For example, after the release of Nexus One, the same background appeared with the inscription “X”. This time, the theme of nature also prevailed, but some abstract gradients and wallpapers in the style of the Nexus brand were already added.
In the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, a lot of work was done on the interface and its general appearance, so Google also picked up beautiful backgrounds for the new icons and menus. Nature and abstract remain the main theme of wallpapers in this version of Android.
Android 3.0 Honeycomb has become almost the most failed version of the system. It was developed exclusively for tablets in order to compete with the iPad, which was dominant in those days. Google decided to split smartphones and tablets into two separate versions of Android, but then the company will abandon this decision. Despite all this, Android 3.0 Honeycomb brought a beautiful interface with the same stylish wallpaper in a blue color scheme.
