If you boost a closed group post, the post becomes able to view on the boost network as a public post.

Users who see & try to interact with said post can not do so even though they can see it

Boost post from closed area,

interact with post on account not a member of area.

I am wondering about the logic of boosting content that resides within a closed group. Is the boost facility really appropriate for use within this sort of scenario?

Good way to promote controversial content publicly without much backlash... perhaps? Or you may want to boost your group to promote (users can ask for invite)

Other than that I'm not sure, I think the point of having a closed group would be to limit the posts/interactions to those members. I don't think that boost is a useful product in closed groups however maybe some disagree in what case I would say... it should become public.

I think this may be interest to @brianhatchet as it may highlight an edge-case in his upcoming permissions changes. Sounds like an issue to me, so it may be something that gets inadvertently fixed with these changes, if not, we will have to address it another way.
