Many users do not have other social network profiles and do not want to see the share buttons on all of their content. Add a check box in settings that allows users to permanently hide share buttons everywhere on the site.

Yes can you please give us an option in the settings to permanently hide that share bar?

Yes that is coming asap

Can we flip this to opt-in for the share button? I think thats more ethical and user sustainable, just look at what happened with opt-out for wires.

Appreciate the feedback but for this first iteration we are going to keep it as opt-out in settings. That gives anyone who really does not want it the ability to easily remove it which solves the problem. There are also many people who really want this feature and it adds a lot of value to the growth and SEO rankings of Minds if our community uses it effectively, as we need more people sharing Minds links out to their other social media presences. As much as we appreciate the users who have abandoned many of those networks (which is why we agree with having a way to turn it off), there are still millions of people on these other networks who have not ever heard of Minds, and this tool provides a mechanism to bring those people to Minds through content.

The option to hide and not see again needs to be ON the share button bar. Just an x... No one will ever go to settings
