According to the Kurdish Red Crescent, the two women were actually SDF fighters known by the names "Hasret" and "Britan."
We also spoke to members of TFSA's Division 20 who confirmed it was them who filmed the video, not Ahrar al-Sharqiyah who were active further east. (4/5)

While the video was filmed in the Suluk area on 13 Oct, we geolocated it to a small village named Fuwaylan approximately 20km NE from the town of Suluk. (2/5)

We also looked into a video that came out on the same day showing the dead bodies of two seemingly unarmed women, filmed by TFSA members. Initially, some (myself included) speculated that this video was related to the Suluk case. (1/5)

Since Mar 2018 Ahrar al-Sharqiyah appears to have been the main TFSA group active in Mahmudiyah, the neighborhood to the south and west of this forested hill
