    Logically, shouldve sent 1,000s of soldiers not mercs in . But he can’t… due to his political weakness, domestically. This “ fighters” aspect is so ugly, it’s helped convince the to let it do whatever it sees fit in .

    1) - More negotiations will make sense, if the Joint Military Committee (5+5 Committee) can actually come to terms on the details for a ceasefire. 2) Seems a likely outcome, unless the oil blockade breaks the GNA. 3) No present signs either side can achieve a decisive victory.

    is what I saw on 18 Feb 2011; later reinforced by many conversations seemingly innocent..every uttering from those I counted as educated & friends showed me they were willing to do whatever it take to get it. This is what the international community wants but not LNA.

  34. a ceasefire cannot be imposed on the Libyan actors without actual buy in & taking some ownership. There are details to be worked out. Key is that the 5+5 committee meets very soon to agree those details & maintain the current truce until an agreement is reached.

    It's worth noting that waving the green flag isn't necessarily a partisan act, but a statement of nostalgia for when Libya wasn't the waking nightmare it is now. Waving it in the faces of those who posed as Libya's salvation, then helped destroy it, is an act of protest.

    That the head of the GNA identifies the MoU as a problem that he had no choice but to sign rather than a principle to be embraced should worry Turkish policymakers who think the GNA factions can't be bought out from under them
