Forum: forums Subject: Many YouTube videos which used to work on the Wayback Machine don't work anymore

Many YouTube videos were archived as Flash videos on the Wayback Machine. However, I cannot view many of those videos anymore. When I use Chrome or Microsoft Edge, I just get the "Sorry, the Wayback Machine does not have this video archived (or not indexed yet)." message. This was common even when I could get this to work, but it now pops up for videos that I'm sure worked before. In Internet Explorer, Flash comes up but the video doesn't load.

Is this a deliberate policy on the part of the Internet Archive? Is there any way I can access these archived videos? Some of them are not on YouTube anymore, but were preserved through the Wayback Machine.

Also, the Wayback Machine rejects any YouTube video with URL parameters (e.g. linked comments with “lc” URL parameters).

Sorry to hear you are having difficulty. Your videos have been added to a list of issues under investigation with regards to Youtube Archiving.
