FLOWER CO. (YC W19) | 1st Product Designer | FT in Los Angeles | https://flowercompany.com

FLOWER CO. is a wholesale cannabis membership club that saves consumers 40% on their favorite products and brands. We are hiring our first Product Designer!

The California cannabis market is $10 billion dollars of which $8 billion is still illicit. With taxes as high as 40%+ in cities like Los Angeles, consumers have little reason to participate in the regulated market. We seek to change this. Thanks to our membership program, scheduled delivery model (not on-demand), and our access to Humboldt County supply, we beat the illicit market on price.

Apply here: https://angel.co/flower-company

PS: Veterans and YC founders both get free lifetime memberships ($119/year normally!).

Seem to be still pushing some small UX features but that's all I know

unfortunately, this. Oh you will be missed, especially by the kids! :(

We're big fans of Nabis here at Flower Co, my cofounders Ted and Scott were also their first customers at Humboldt Legends.

Congratulations ^.^

Thanks Tony! We’re also huge fans of Flower Co at Nabis :)

Thanks for the support! The love goes both ways.

Love it

Cannabis companies are limited to only a few means of advertising so billboards are one of the best. FlowerCompany is finding strong results using them too.

https://FlowerCompany.com | Cannabis Wholesale Membership Club | VP Engineering, Comptroller | SF/East Bay | On Site

FlowerCompany is a wholesale membership delivery service that connects consumers directly to Humboldt County farmers. Members order over the weekend for pre-scheduled delivery the following Wednesday, Thursday, or Saturday with a 90-minute delivery window.

Membership starts at $79/year and members generally save ~40% on any purchase. Taxes on cannabis are as high as 38% in certain areas, so by lowering product prices, consumers save a lot of money on taxes too. Our mission is to beat black market prices while offering all the benefits of the regulated market, i.e. pesticide-free tested products, top-notch customer service, and a menu that is always fresh and exciting.

We're only 6 months old but we are scaling fast. We have 20 billboards up in SF this month and will be expanding across the state within the next 6-12 months.

If you're interested, please email scarlet@flowercompany.com with your resume.

Thank you.

As someone who is running a cannabis company [1], this is concerning, but it ignores the fact that a majority of the members we service (we operate like Costco with a membership model) are in severe chronic pain. They use it as an alternative to opioids and that cannot be overlooked. Having lost multiple people close to me due to opioids, that needs to be dealt with first before we roll back the progress we've made with cannabis.

That's not to say we should be aware of the potential downsides, but there seems to be plenty of higher priorities that we should be focusing efforts first.

How does this compare to Bitwise?

Bitwise has better diversification across top 10 currencies based on market cap. Coinbase has lower entry point of $10k minimum v/s $25k minimum required by Bitwise.
