For the last 2 days when I try to place a call I get the message "The number or code you have dialed is incorrect, Please check the number and try again."
Then it repeats it in Spanish, and then after a couple seconds hangs up.
Have tried several times with different numbers with the same result. This is first time this has happened..

It does sound like the DTMF tones on your phone are not set properly, however, could you please try entering in this code to get a carrier reset going? ##72786# -- your phone should reset and go through a hands-free activation. Once complete, try placing a phone call and let us know if it worked, if not, please try the following on your device:
You would choose the Long setting.
Thanks for the information, but I still can't call out today. Same stupid message.
