    The 3000-year-old Great Synagogue of Aleppo is since 3 years back undergoing massive restoration by the Sephardic Heritage Museum in cooperation with the Chief Rabbi of Syria. It contains a huge cemetery of Syrian Jews through history, and over 200 graves have been recovered now.

  3. The big contrast between 2018 and 2019 can be explained with the fact that after that many areas were retaken by the SAA during 2018 (Daraa, Homs countryside, eastern Ghouta, Dumayr pocket, smaller part of Idlib and southern Damascus), homes were quickly rehabilitated.

  4. According to the Ministry of Local Administration, 9000 homes were rehabilitated (compared to 30 000 in 2018) at an estimated cost of 6.9 billion SYP in 2019. Work’s underway to rehabilitate 3188 more in the Damascus, Daraa, Aleppo, Homs, Deir Ezzor, Hamah & Latakia governorates.

  5. Russia and Syria are currently holding talks about opening a Russian university in Damascus, as a potential branch of Moscow State Uni. President of the Palestinian Orthodox Society, Sergei Stepashin, said that he has dedicated a piece of land in Damascus for its establishment.

  10. A new joint Iranian-Syrian contracting company, Nikin Syria Company, has been established after the approval of the Syrian Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection. Based in Damascus, it is owned by Syrian & Iranian investors and will work in the field of construction.

  14. A new residential suburb in Al-Dweirineh in Aleppo countryside by Totol Company is currently being studied.

  15. Proposed projects in the Jalaa neighbourhood of Aleppo by Totol Company are 1) two proposals of a new one-hectare area for commercial companies and offices, and 2) a residential project consisting of 13 residential blocks.

  18. A new mall is underway in Aleppo - Arena Mall. The mall includes shops, restaurants, an arcade hall, a gym and a cinema. Work began only a few months ago and is now already in its final phase. The construction project is being conducted by Yamhad Contracting.

  19. Last month, rehabilitation work reached the final phase for the theatre of the Christian Education Society in Aleppo. The project has been conducted by Yamhad Contracting at a record speed, with work having begun early autumn.

  20. Yamhad Contracting is also restoring a number of bridges in Aleppo countryside, including Zairaya bridge, Tall Balat bridge, Al-Kablat bridge, Tal Hasil Bridge, Sadkop Bridge and Wadi’a bridge.

  21. Rehabilitation of the warehouses and the grinder in the area of Tall Balat outside of Aleppo by the new Syrian company Yamhad Contracting. Work is expected to be completed within 150 days.

  23. The restoration of the Armenian Evangelical Bethel Church in Aleppo is in full swing. It is being restored by the recently established Syrian company Yamhad Contracting. The company has provided work for 200 young Syrians, who are also being trained for future projects.

  24. The external restoration of the museum’s four facades has been completed. Yasser Al-Muharb, the head of the Anitquities and Museums office in the city of Raqqah, expressed his hope to see the museum completely restored by the end of this month.
