Correct, this head is only for penetration and trigger the explosive behind it. It went easily through the plane and fell very close to the impact zone, probably in Parand suburb. The AA battery probably on the hills east of it.pic.twitter.com/kiXdOj1ZS3

no, this system does not penetrate, it explodes in front of the plane & downs it with shrapnel. This is why the head gets so little damage

Also a lot of missiles don't actually contact the target. Rather they explode very near it and the shrapnel is what causes the damage.

Like Most Of Anti-Aircraft Missiles.

Any evidence of shrapnel by now?

So do you have any evidence that photo from yesterday is actually taken at crash site?
-
I believe Bellingcat has stated we don't have information on when/where that photo was taken.

Wouldnβt the photo be near the supposed impact site rather than the crash side? Or are we assuming that the part got stuck in the airplane?
-
Exactly. Parand suburb. Near the crash site the plane was hit second time. Probably by other IRGC guys who were taken by surprise and thought it's an american thing, they used manpads on the burning plane.
