Thanks for your patience while we investigated why approved Wayspots weren’t populating in Niantic games. We’re happy to let you know that this issue has been resolved. Additionally, we’re working to ensure previous approvals are also imported ASAP.

Trainers, we have moved the "Report a Technical Issue" link from the Settings page into in-app support. To report technical issues moving forward, please tap "Get Support" and select "Report a Bug" when prompted. Your input is valuable in creating smooth gameplay experience.

Trainers, we're rolling out another #PokemonGO update (163.4) that addresses the AR prompt appearing on Pokémon encounters. After updating, if this persists on your AR+ compatible device, please ensure "Google Play Services for AR" is installed and updated via the Play Store.

Trainers, #PokemonGO January Research Breakthrough encounters will feature Lapras that knows both Ice Shard and Ice Beam. A previous announcement implied that Lapras would only know one of these two moves. Our apologies for any confusion this may have been caused.

We've just launched PokéStop and Gym contributions! Eligible #PokemonGO Trainers can now suggest improvements to PokéStop and Gym information, such as titles, descriptions, and photos, all of which are submitted for approval through Niantic Wayfarer. 1/2

Trainers, we're working to resolve an issue where Buddy Pokémon lose buddy progress (including Buddy Level) after they're evolved. This only applies if the Pokémon being evolved isn't your active buddy. In the meantime, set the Pokémon you're evolving as your active buddy first.

Trainers, we're releasing an update to #PokemonGO (163.2) that contains a fix for loading issues some users on Android 5 and 6 have reported. Thanks for your patience while we investigated this issue!

Additionally, your Team GO Rocket Battle Party will be saved after battles with various types of Grunts (e.g. Grunts battling with Grass- or Dragon-type Pokémon), and each Leader. This includes Pokémon at reduced health, so double check your Pokémon's HP prior to battle! 2/3

We've also been carefully listening to your feedback and are happy to share that our teams will be increasing their focus on quality of life in 2020 to better balance these improvements to existing gameplay with new feature launches.

The launch of Niantic Wayfarer was one of our favorite Niantic moments of the year. We worked hard to make the acceptance criteria more streamlined and comprehensive in advance of the global launch in November and will continue to do so to bring more Wayspots into Niantic games.

Speaking of transparency, we introduced the three-strike policy from Pokémon GO into Ingress and Harry Potter: Wizards Unite and have been working on several improvements to how we communicate policy violations and enforcement, including regular reports directly from our team.

To bring you more transparency on what happens behind the scenes, we’ve updated the Pokémon GO help center to include release notes, and revamped the known issues page to give you one place for info on our latest updates and the most impactful bugs.
