Through friends and family in Oz I understand environmentalists and the government have caused some of these fires by banning properly managed fire breaks in the winter and reducing their width to save wildlife. Ironic that millions of animals have now perished.pic.twitter.com/GmnXeXH7s4

There is no green legislation preventing Hazard reduction burns (HRB). It's another
argument.
This last winter it has been:
too hot
Too wet
Too dry
Too windy
HRB only works for up to 2 years & then makes the risk worse for 10 years. It's also ineffective beyond 500 metres - 1 more reply
