"Australian authorities have reportedly arrested 98 people – 31 adults and 67 juveniles – for deliberately setting over 100 fires. These people are affiliated with a local Climate Change activist group" 
In the states of New South Wales & Victoria, authorities are more concerned with getting the brush fires under control than they are finding the culprit, but many of those fires have been set deliberately, most have started as small fires that ultimately went out of control.
It's “green” policies that prevent farmers from doing controlled burns on their property and is part of the reason Australian brush fires now regularly rage out of control. They have the same problem in California. Down here the State and USFS do underburns and no problems

An aside, for CA fires, there were published pix of aerial devices lighting fires while hovering over a location. Anyone interested can research to find them again. This ties in w tweets yesterday that aerial devices hv been used in Australia, too.
