Can qBittorrent auto add trackers from a url?

So in qBittorrent I have trackers from this link and was wondering if there was a way to automatically add these into the "add these trackers to new torrents" in qBittorrent settings instead of manually having to copy them over every so often.

I don't think any torrent clients have a way to do that (including qBittorrent).

Just as an aside, keep in mind that you don't need any trackers for public torrents as long as you have DHT/PEX enabled & working in your torrent client.

You can't add trackers from a url, but you can copy / paste trackers by editing the torrents

I'm trying to be a good steward and do some seeding, especially since a lot of what I torrent is very not popular (over 20 years old with like 5 seeders), but I've started to get over 30 current seeding torrents. So when does everyone decided when/what to get rid of with their seeding?

I have around 50 torrents active now. More than half of them are seeding. I would love to seed and reach the ratio as quickly as possible, after which I remove the torrent.

I want to know if its possible to close all other programs except qbitorrent and go to sleep. Qbitorrent remains active for a few hours and EXIT the program automatically. Preferably time based or even better, exit the program as the battery reached 10%.

Right now, I just leave it. After 4-5 hours, battery drains. The laptop shuts down. This breaks some or all torrents and I have to force recheck them. I don't want to leave it plugged all night.

Any work around to this? Any third party tool that can do this?

I have been torrenting since mid 2000s, so not really a newbie in any way, but I have a very annoying problem at the moment and I'm only wondering if what I think is right? Not even sure if I formulated the question right.

Recently we have upgraded to SUPER fast wifi and I´ve seriously seen our download speed go up to almost 20Mb/s, so naturally I have been incredibly happy, torrenting has been a dream etc, but of course, if theres no one seeding, nothing can download either way right? I am downloading this movie right now since about two weeks and its been stuck at the frustrating 90% since basically the second day, the only thing I keep doing is seeding it. Could not be more used to this, but, here's the problem: The torrent has since the beginning had 1 seeder and (at the beginning) 16 peers. The number of peers is steadily declining, today there is only 11 left. I would think they all gave up over time, were it not for the fact that this is the most active torrent I am seeding, all the time at about 2-5Mb/s upload speed. The movie is 3GB and I have uploaded 12,4 GB of it. Now I am wondering, am I just seeding this for other people to download and they then disappear (which I do all the time too), or are none of us successfully getting anything out of this and just cancelling the download?

I guess there isnt anything I could do about this, but I am just really wondering where all those GBs I am seeding are going to.... By the way, I am using Bittorrent (but the question pertains more to the way torrenting works in principle, hence I post it here)

I know this is probably a noob question but I tried Vuze out for a while and it had a pool search feature. I was wondering if there's a way to search via ip for what others are seeding. Say I'm seeding something and I see the leechers ip. Could I check their ip to see if they are seeding anything I want? (atleast that was my understanding of the pool search thing) I use qBittorrent.

(I did attempt to Google this before asking)

It was the latest version of Vuz. I managed to uninstall the sneaky Web search tool thing, but my browser still has a gap at the top of the window where it used to sit. I uninstalled Vuze too. Is there anything else that it sneakily installed that i should be aware of? Worried now

I have a ton of private torrents seeding in Vuze but I would like to move over to transmission, how would I go about doing that?

Hi all, I googled for days to understand carrier grade NAT and port forwarding.

This 8 year old reddit comment made more sense to me.

Connectable has nothing to do with whether you can send and receive. It has to do with who you are able to establish a connection to: an unconnectable person can only make outbound connection attempts, whereas a connectable person can receive inbound connection attempts as well as make outbound connection attempts. Two unconnectable users will never be able to establish a connection, which means the pool of users that you can potentially communicate with is smaller, hence why you should fix it. But an unconnectable and a connectable user can establish a connection as long as the unconnectable one initiates it, and once established the TCP connection is bidirectional.

My ISP Uses carrier grade NAT. I Tried asking them nicely but they are not helping. Changing ISP is not an option because i live in rural area this is my only available ISP

Paying for VPN is not an option for atleast few months (i have to save money for that- 3rd world problems)

But an unconnectable and a connectable user can establish a connection as long as the unconnectable one initiates it, and once established the TCP connection is bidirectional.

As an unconnectable user how can i initiate the connection?

I use a private tracker. I have 50+ torrents on seeding tab. Its just not uploading to anyone because of this.

So how can I establish a connection to connectable users?

Can adding new trackers slow down download speed? If I for example go to 10 big torrent sites and get the magnet link for my (same) torrent file, can this slow speed down? It hasn't happened to me, I'm just wondering.

I use uTorrent and I am pretty satisfied with it for now. I download a lot and I seed atleast for a year. This means that the amount of free space shrinks rapidly and I have to buy new and bigger disk. And when I get the bigger disk, i always move everything to the new big disk and use the old one for miscellaneous stuff. I wish i was able to use BOTH the old and the new disk for torrenting.

Therefore i ask u guys; Is it possible in one way or another to download torrents to multiple harddisks instead of only one?

Currently I'm trying to tackle this rather annoying problem : while trying to seed any torrent, whether heavily overseeded or not, and on public trackers as well as private ones, most peer connections if not all are terminated with Peer error offline message after 2 or 3 seconds.Torrents are downloading just fine. I've checked my network settings and everything seems to be all right (port forwarding, firewall settings etc). Does anyone have any idea what may cause this to happen ?

So I use a web client (flood) to monitor and manage my torrents and something I like to do is to click the "Added" column header to sort my torrents by when they were added. This is a common feature I've seen in every rtorrent client I've ever used.

What I've noticed however is that the Date value is only accurate if I add the torrent through the client interface. In flood's case this means clicking the + button at the top right, entering the URL etc, and adding. However if the torrent gets added automatically because I saved the .torrent file to one of my Watch directories, then the Date always reads as 12/31/1969, presumably because the value is actually missing/not set.

I've been trying to find a command I can put in my rtorrent.rc config file that assigns the value to new torrents picked up in a Watch directory, but so far no dice. And the only seemingly relevant results I can find have to do with some client-specific instructions.

Is this value actually recognized and settable by rtorrent itself or is it a construct provided by whatever client is used to add the torrent file? If rtorrent understands that value, is there a way for me to manually set it in my RC file?

So ill have a download going at full speed, say 20mb/s. Then eventually itll drop down to 30kb/s. But if I change the port, it immediatly shoots back up to 20mb/s again, and thus falls 5 min later. Whats going on here? I havent changed any settings.

Whenever I disable uTP, my speeds in utorrent are more stable but does this reduce the amount of seeds/peers I can connect to?

I'm worried that the seeds/peers will only allow uTP connections and not want to connect to TCP only connections if that's even a thing. I don't mind uTP connections but would prefer TCP as much as possible due to the speed increase.

I made a live linux distribution and I need to have a way to share pre-compiled .img files of it and thought a torrent would be the best way so I created a new torrent using transmission on my laptop and tried to download it on my phone and it worked.
I'm seeding it on my phone(4g), laptop(wifi) and a remote server that's on a completely different network accross the internet(transferred the file over ssh to the right folder and then opened the magnet link).
I have PHX and DHT enabled on all torrent clients but if I try to download it onto my desktop or raspberry pi they get stuck on retrieving metadata from 0 peers. I also tried adding a tracker(openbittorrent) to all the clients but that did nothing too.
I know that without some NAT forwarding or something it won't be able to connect to my laptop but it can't find my phone or the remote server either.
Any ideas?

I use the 'save torrent file' option in transmission to keep a copy of all .torrent files for backup purposes. I've noticed that any downloads from magnet links do not get converted to .torrent files and/or are not also saved somewhere.

Is it possible to have transmission save the magnet info somewhere or otherwise convert the magnet link to a .torrent file after it has received all necessary metadata?

EDIT: Clarification. I am submitting a magnet url to transmission, and I want transmission to convert/save this into a .torrent file for backup purposes.

EDIT 2: Solved. See comment below.

AFAIU, it shouldn't be technically possible. Unless BitTorrent UDP protocol works like FTP protocl's passive mode. Meaning that those incoming UDP connections aren't actually incoming connections, and BitTorrent protocol specification simply labels them as incoming connections. Is that how BitTorrent UDP protocol works?

I found this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/torrents/comments/ahw9qw/how_can_i_change_tracker_for_torrent_in_rtorrent/

I need to delete/edit the trackers in my torrent files.

Can I just batch-edit the .torrent files in .sessions, or will this screw up the _resume files? I notice the _resume files include statuses for each tracker. Any best way of doing surgery on the resume files? Each tracker seems to have a unique code assigned to it.

I hope someone can be of assistance.

So I'm running Deluge on Windows 10. Been running 1.3.1 for years.

Well my problem is, I restarted my computer and opened Deluge, and poof my entire torrent list was gone.

I went to my appdata/roaming/deluge/state folder and all the files are there, yet they refuse to show up in Deluge.

My question is, how do I get the torrent state file to work with Deluge again? There is no possible way for me to manually recheck and readd every single possible torrent.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just years of torrents gone.

hey all,

New here! :) but thought this would be a good place to ask i've been using the below snippet of code for a while on ruTorrent 3.8 (0.9.6/0.13.6) Debian 8.

I have finalled upgraded to ruTorrent 3.9 (0.9.8/0.13.8) Debian 10. However the code i have now stops rtorrent running if included in the .rtorrent.rc file.

#Finished dir based on label
system.method.insert=d.get_finished_dir,simple,"cat=~/files/,$d.get_custom1="

#Move completed to directory based on label name
system.method.set_key=event.download.finished,move_complete,"d.set_directory=$d.get_finished_dir=;execute=mkdir,-p,$d.get_finished_dir=;execute=mv,-u,$d.get_base_path=,$d.get_finished_dir="

In short the code used to move torrents on completion to a folder within /files/ based on the torrent label. for example /files/stuff1/ or /files/stuff2/ etc etc...

I don't suppose anyone knows what I need to change to make this work again? :)

Last night i had a couple of movies downloading on bittorrent. The internet disconnected and after i got it to connect again today, all of a sudden the speeds are just way slower. It'll say "2d 17hr" for a downlaod that's only about 5g and should be going faster than a 26g download that is going fsater, but the speeds keep going to a few days, then suddenly will start getting faster for a couple of minutes, then it will get slow again. I also have a download that just keeps pausing.

today i found out that i can adjust my speed for torrents. my mac was getting so hot after 30-45 minutes of torrenting. my speeds were at 10 MiB/s which is fast. i have my speed to max out on my torrenting at 3.5 MiB/s to hopefully keep my computer cooler when torrenting. was curious if you guys have a recommended speed and does a slower downloader use less CPU?

I'm deciding which client to use but all I got on this subreddit was opinions without reasons. How am I supposed to judge a client when all you say is "I like Deluge" or "I use Deluge. Changed from Transmission and never looked back". I want a client that has many features, dont care much about lightweight and finally it has to have the speed history thing along with update tractors, reset bans and clear peer list. When I used UTorrent(before the betrayal), those were the settings that seemed to help the most
