    There are other instances. But these two decisions greatly increased the real and perceived power of this man. A man that wrecked havoc on the region and fellow Muslims from Yemen to Lebanon.

    Then we allowed his proxies a leadership role in the US-backer PMF that we provided indispensable air cover to and the support of a 70-nation counter-ISIS coalition. The Iraqi government begged us at the time to bail them out when Mosul fell. We could have kept Soleimani out.

    We watched him ferry supplies to Assad as early as 2012 over Iraqi airspace and eventually send Iraqi and Afghan militias, and Quds Force personnel. We watched them lay siege to, and starve countless Syrian towns from Homs to Mouadmaya to Aleppo.

    Could there be possibly another constituency also celebrating? Like Syrians, Iraqis, Lebanese, and Iranians who have been brutalized by him and his militias? Why not reference these facts while legitimately questioning the wisdom of the decision to kill him?

    Another reasonable assessment to consider.

    1/ Why did Iran militarily escalate in the Gulf lately? Shooting down a US drone, seizing tankers, bombing Saudi oil infrastructure? It wanted to internationalise the conflict. The Strait of Hormuz is where most of the world's shipping transits. The US chose not to go there.

    Analysis by someone who actually knows what they’re talking about. Disregard dumbed down condemnations by Trump’s opponents. I do not support him on plenty, but they provide half of the story as seen in what they don’t say about the damage Soleimani inflicted on the region.

    Do not confuse the Iranian Quds Force-backed militias that attacked the US Embassy in Baghdad with the peaceful Iraqi civilians who have been protesting against corruption and these same militias and their control of the country for months.

    This will be a lengthy investigation but very troubling that the police fired at the suspects with so manny cars nearby and even used some for cover. The UPS driver that was taken hostage by the robbers and a nearby motorist were killed.
