I choose to believe that that this whole season was an elaborate April Fools joke.

level 2

After having watched it just now, I choose to believe this season never happened and Kaban and Serval are a happy couple together somewhere. This season wasn't made with love like s1 but was a blatant cash grab. Kadokawa fucked up.

level 1

Can we now say for sure it was a mistake to fire Tatsuki or is it still too early?

hahaha you really caught me kimura, that was an excellent joke of april fools, now when the real episode comes out?

level 1

So in the end we had:

  • Kyururu wanted to find what she was good at but didn’t and was still dead weight at the end

  • Ieinu still alone in her house and discovers Kyururu was one of her humans making their split even more baffling and senseless.

  • Kaban and Serval crying and being apart for no reason.

  • Tiger not getting transformed into a full friend and I guess dying despite saving the day???

  • No Alpaca Suri short at the end despite being the best part of the show.

  • Bat-Eared Fox’s hotel is now crushed

Did I miss anything else? What a not tanoshii ending. What a bad show. It’s crazy how this show could exist and be a thing and drop the ball so hard when Kemurikusa was here all season and hitting it out of the park. I’ll never stop marveling at how Kadokawa found a golden goose and strangled it in its crib instead of just doing nothing and making oodles of money. What a world we live in.

Considering how dark the ending was, I feel comfortable calling this Kemono Friends, The School Days Edition.

level 2

No explanation for the two flying friends(?) that only appear to Kyururu either. It seems like all leading to to a major sequel bait due to so many unfinished/answered things.

Tiger not getting transformed into a full friend and I guess dying despite saving the day???

Not only that, she just came to kill some shit tier ceruleans, not even the "tough" Caracal-Serval ones and then she just stood there (they even had the chance to use a Tiger cerulean to make things interesting and make her have a worthy fight)

And now we have giant ceruleans in the sea and volcans that keep spilling ceruleum (Thanks for ruining the "Water kills Ceruleans" just to make a setup for this btw)

DD being FUCKING ALONE grind my gears to no end.

Season 2 was a mistake

level 2

They did another zoo collab, but this time the friends are outside of the exhibition and they're using an updated PPP design, like the new friends, where the hair is literally the face or head of the animal.

I do not hate the show, but I do really hate what they did to Kaban and Serval relationship. Between the many problems in the story and of continuation It was the appice of their disdain with the original work. They literally spitted on it.

Sadly, I will always remember this as one of the biggest examples of how NOT explore a sequel. I wish that ending was a april fools joke. :(

I tried to give this show a fair chance, I really did. At its best, it was a fair imitation of the original. Not as good, but still passable. At its worst, though...

In season 1, Kaban had to use all sorts of human ingenuity to outsmart the Ceruleans and defeat them by striking their weak point. Now, they just explode into confetti from a light tap. I mean, I don't watch KF for any kind of sakuga action scene, but come on, why is everyone freaking out when they seemingly go down in one punch? Goddamn it Kadokawa.

What the fuck even is a "Beast", how did Amur Tiger end up so ax-crazy, and is there any way to make her just a regular Friend? Who knows? WHY DO THEY JUST BRING HER BACK TO BE A DEUS EX MACHINA EXCEPT SHE DOESN'T ACTUALLY HELP AND SHE JUST SHOWS UP TO DIE? Goddamn it Kadokawa.

WHY YOU DO THIS TO THE POOR DOGGO. Kyururu has no reason not to straight-up live with her, even if she can't be a travelling companion. SO WHY IS THE DOGGO STILL ALONE SOMEBODY PLEASE GIVE HER THE PATS SHE DESERVES. Goddamn it Kadokawa.

THEY DID KABAN DIRTY TOO. What happened after S1? When did Serval get eaten and revived? Why did they think "Friendship ended with Kaban, Kyururu is my best friend now" counted as closure for the two of them? What the fuck did Kaban even do this season? Why was she even in this season? Goddamn it Kadokawa.

In conclusion, fuck you, give Tatsuki back, Kemurikusa is doing way better than this show so Sora Yori spoilers

Goddamn it Kadokawa.

level 2

Not only are the Ceruleans incredibly flimsy, they also conveniently stand around waiting for their impending doom. (Except for the flying ones, which hover around waiting for their impending doom.)

level 2

I'm late as heck to this but I just binged half the episodes to catch up.

I agree the action was a disappointment (again not that KF is known for action), because no strategy was used besides throw the deus ex tiger and all friends into the situation (which still had a teamwork essence but threw safety and planning out the window).

I feel like the beast subplot was an unfinished idea, where animals abused or wiped out by people could be resurrected by sandstar, but driven to madness by their prior life perhaps? I honestly expected Passenger Pigeon to turn rogue or something after seeing the clone PP getting slashed.

I feel like Domestic Dog they just ran out of time, mostly because they showed her leaving the house at one point, only for the next return to her being sadly sorting mail back at one of the houses. (Also I thought the drawing was interesting because I immediately assumed the park staff on the farthest right was adult Kaban, before realizing that was probably impossible, although it's just as unlikely to have Serval and Caracal gravitate right back to Kyururu years after completely losing their memories multiple times).

I thought the black birds of paradise seemed to be a fever dream hallucination, which were neat. I feel like with more animation to their movements, they could have been terrifying or at least mesmerizing (the real birds have crazy dances).

In conclusion it felt like how it was produced, firing the director halfway into storyboards and production. Choppy writing, a double tearjerk ending because a heavy kick in the groin.

level 1

Remember when the director said that "the new character Caracal will change the dynamics of the narrative structure [compared to the first season]"?

I honestly can't see what was Caracal's importance to this season. Some side characters like Dolphin were far more important than her, the main plot could have worked exactly the same if it was only Kyururu + Serval.
I was expecting something like Serval going back to Kaban then Caracal staying with Kyururu, but I guess the director tried to make people forget about Kaban as much as he could.

level 2

What she did was provide a straight man to comment on whacky stuff. That’s kinda it. It’s Japan so muh manzai comedy.

level 1

I like how it's the complete opposite of the ending Tatsuki gave Kemurikusa this very season.

In that we had an injection of happiness, triumph, discovery and adventure for the finale. It was beautiful and could elicit some happy tears just like the last bit of KF1 (which he also crafted) could.

All KF2's finale reminded me of was how the tanoshii was surgically extracted and used to cover its production costs. It looks and moves better than the original but the content of some of these episodes (particularly in the last 1/3) get a big yikes from me.

level 1
38 points · 9 months ago

Playing the cheerful S1 opening in that sad moment when Serval failed to remember Kaban was in incredible bad taste. The new direction seems to have a philosophy of never giving fans what they want, let's see how well it works on the long run.

level 1
https://myanimelist.net/profile/Teedex17 points · 9 months ago

This season could've been better.

level 2

I'm struggling to imagine how it could have been worse!

level 1

Well that felt very messy, but still not awful at least. I feel this show was trying to keep the balance of happy kids stuff with dark undertones of the original, but utterly failing. It would bring up interesting questions about Serval's memories, Dog's master and Kyururu's origins. Then not doing anything with them and leaving a big clunking hole.

Still the show was fun for the most part and the friends were cute as always. Though I wish the old crew had featured more, Fennec head chopping that Cerulean was great.

level 1

I have to preface first that I haven't watch this series yet. I do plan to watch it, I really do. Since almost everyone here are expressing disappointment, I'll just go ahead and lament what a loss this has become while there's still someone who can read this instead of watching it several weeks later with no place for me to express this.

I was there when Kemono Friends S1 exploded. I picked up that show thinking this must be one of those "so bad, its good" shows. And I felt like I can use a laugh. But instead I found myself amused, then charmed, then finally hooked. Somehow it combined the storytelling style and feel of a PBS Kids show, the charm of a CGDCT show, a hint of somber of a good post-apocalytic show, the wonder of a sci-fi, and... made it work.

I remember how it was so unpopular that Reddit didn't even have threads for the first several episodes. MAL was rating it in the low 4's. But yet somehow it manage to change everyone's mind in the span of few weeks. It was most the most discovered hidden-gem of what one can call a hidden-gem. And the most sleeper hit of what can be described as a sleeper hit.

What a waste that S2 have to exist like this. If we follow S1's karma, Kemono Friends S2 should have been in that karma ranking list probably dancing around #10. It should have made this stacked season even more stacked - while still continuing as "that show that belongs there but shouldn't" in an even more absurdly stacked season. This past season is probably going to be remembered as one of the best seasons ever. This show should have been a part of that list.

At least Kemurikusa gets to exist because of this. And reading the other comments, it sounds like it gets to be a sleeper hit too. Not as big as Kemono Friends, but I'll take this small justice where I can.

level 1

For a minute I thought something really bad would happen to Carcal, considering the only plushie that falls off the table during the start is hers, guess not.

There was a whole lot of action this episode that I didn't care for, but I liked the emotional moments. Like when Kyururu exclaims her desire to be Friends with everyone.

I really don't like that Siberian Tiger just stood there and let herself presumably die. If there's some light in in her soul, but she still thinks she's better off dead, then it just proves the birds of paradise right, and that's kind of fucked up. Also, no one wanted to save her?

I did like when Serval and Kaban meet again at the beach, but I don't think it offers closure I want. The tragedy that is their journey's end still kills me, and that they can't be together hurts, especially when Kaban still cares for her so deeply.

I was severely disappointed with the end of Domestic Dog's arc. It's a small tragedy that after giving up on her only chance thus far to be happy, she will still wait alone, indefinitely for someone, anyone, to be her human. And that's genuinely depressing.

Also it's a total dissatisfying copout that the main plot resolution is just supposed to be "Who cares anymore, friendship!". What's the deal with Kyururu's eyes? The birds of paradise? Could Siberian Tiger have been saved? What happened to Kyu's family? What's her relationship to Mirai?!

Season 2 Overview##

Overall, I don’t think Kemono Friends 2 is a very bad show, but it also isn’t very good. If it wasn’t supposed to be the sequel to one of the most virally popular anime of all time and wasn’t stained by one of the biggest anime controversies of all time, it would just be completely unremarkable anime. Quick review:

There’s too much filler where:

  1. There are no plot developments

  2. There is no lore

  3. There are no character or relationship developments

  4. What happens is tremendously insignificant or even tedious

None of the plot lines have any satisfying payoff. The story of Domestic Dog is a depressing tale of a dog who finds a human to be happy with, must give up on her, and then spends the rest of her time alone comforting herself with mementos from the past. Yay friendship. The main story plot resolution being “who cares anymore we have friendship” is a massive copout from answering all the questions they raised over the course of the series.

The show’s cast lacks any strong characters and is plagued by static personalities that aren’t very fun, in a show where friendship is the core theme. Season 1’s returning characters also suffer from duller personalities and a loss of their original characterization. Too many characters have moments where they just seem like selfish jerks and even the main cast suffers from this in the later episodes. Also, roadrunner is the epitome of selfish jerks.

Would I recommend this anime? If you’ve seen the original Kemono Friends and mostly liked it for the cute girls and the wholesomeness, then yes. Otherwise no. There are better shows to see if you want a cute girls anime with plot and lore.

level 1

OK. No screenshot dump for now, because I'm left in disbelief with the last frame.

Everyone's probably already going to be talking about how much stuff wasn't covered in this episode, so I'm going to take a different approach.

My post this time is mostly going to be about these 6 words:

The main Kemono Friends timeline is already hella confusing. I thought that with the development of some of the episodes in this season, that we'll be able to at least tie some of it together.

But then this drawing.

THIS DRAWING. THROWS EVERYTHING OUT THE WINDOW AGAIN.

Like what the fuck man, assuming there's no time paradox BS happening, there is just simply little-to-no explanation how these characters could have appeared together in a drawing. The caption reads "Park no onii-san onee-san", which definitely means that there was significant interaction between all of these 6 characters. This has never happened in any other media (so far; I'm hoping they give us some connection in Youkoso Japari Park as it does have its own original mystery instead of just retelling the 2015 story and it's finally continuing next week!!!) and I'm trying to scramble my brain + the wiki trying to find an explanation.

While everyone's most likely busy criticizing how much they left out from this episode, I'm going to be losing so much of my sanity just trying to figure out the existence of this freaking drawing.

Ironically, that this drawing causes so much confusion... actually answers some of the inconsistencies of the earlier episodes.

It's hard to explain, but basically everything about Kyururu's existence, and what actual timeline she should really be in.

The drawings that were already in her sketchbook have a style that resembles the stuff that she also drew in the current time. While not confirmed, we can ride on the theory that she drew the past drawings before the events of Episode 1.

Reminder as well that those drawings (we'll call them 'past drawings' for now) most likely depict a time when not even the Cerulean incident even happened yet (between Gen 1 and Gen 2), and of course neither did the Great Disaster (between Gen 2 and Gen ?). Add on to the theory that these were her drawings, and we have a possible case of Kyururu actually being preserved in that pod rather than being born in it.

This may sound really out-of-character for the series, but do note that the biggest mystery in Kemono Friends still is all being fueled by the crapton of Kako Reports that focus on Sandstar and Professor Kako's implied ambitions of resurrection. With things like the Cerulean invasion and the Great Disaster throwing the park for an unexpected loop, who knows to what lengths they went to save the humans that couldn't be evacuated in time.

We were definitely focused on the fact that Kyururu was born in it because of all the Sandstar found in her pod. That theory still stands, sure, but with the existence of that that drawing , a new theory arises about her existence.

...

Should also call to attention that I don't think anyone actually knows who the park staff at the rightmost side of the drawing is. The caption does have "onii-san" on it, so there's a strong possibility that one of the characters in the drawing is a guy, or at least if not a guy, fulfills a role that gets them called onii-san.

Why is Dog behind Nana of all characters? Again none of these characters have met together in a scene like this. Sure, Nana, Mirai, Serval, Caracal all existed since Generation 1. But if you read the manga there isn't even a scene with all 4 of them, the closest you'll get is just 3 of them, but not 4 of them together.

Really, seriously, my heaviest feeling right now is all about how the living Blackbuck does this drawing even exist?

I'm going to keep thinking about this for a looooooong while. And with things finally slowing down with the season ending, with only Pavilion, Festival, Youkoso Japari Park, tiding us through for now as we wait for the release of KF3 Planet Tours/KF3 Mobile... this is seriously going to be a long period of waiting for answers.

Gonna leave this season with a big "WHAT" from me. I'm going to need... a lot more explanations to fix all the written material that this last drawing broke.

level 2

Well I can't comment on to much as I didn't follow most the new season but just to put out there as it might help. The manga that takes places when the park was active show there is essentially even cities set up in the park with friends and humans living side by side if I remember. Dunno if this could give some context to the drawing.

I’m pretty disappointed by this final episode. It was pretty dark and grim. I’m hoping there’s a follow on series or movie that lets the friends have a happier ending.

I’ve been pretty annoyed ever since episode 10 and the enormous letdown with how the story treated DD. I feel like they sold us one thing and delivered something much worse.

level 1

Terrible ending to a terrible show. They have to be doing this on purpose, I refuse to believe that the new writer's didn't actually think people would like this crap.

level 1
http://myanimelist.net/profile/LeonKevlar14 points · 9 months ago

I still have mixed feelings about this show even though I enjoyed it. As the anime on it's own? It's fun and decent. But as a Kemono Friends sequel? It's disappointing and the highlight of this show as a sequel is Episode 5. Also for some reason they just decided to make the timeline more confusing.

Oh well. At least Kemurikusa was here to fill that void KemuFre Season 1 left behind. But like I said though, if you treat this as a standalone anime it's fine. It's a perfectly average 7/10 for me.

level 2

What kind of video game journalism is this? 7 isn’t average.

level 2

for some reason they just decided to make the timeline more confusing.

What's confusing about this?

level 1

Look, it wasn't bad but it wasn't good either and it was nothing like the first season. I get the director change after what happened with Tatsuki, yes I do but this season... it just doesn't work. The Friends didn't behave as they were supposed to, Toki for example, and the whole Domestic Dog thing, it literally tored my heart apart, I'm a dog person, I have two dogs and one of them has been with me for 16 years now, I love them both so much that I started to love dogs, not just mine but all of them and watching what Kyururu did with that cute little wounded doggy girl, it was too much.

I also understand that when you already count on a confirmed sequel some things must remain uncleared, yes of course but the final episode explained absolutely nothing. The Ceruleum, the submarine volcano, that massive ship-shaped Cerulean, the Beasts Friends, I really didn't get where they wanted to go with this final episode.

I'm gonna keep up supporting this franchise because I love the Friends and I love the infinite possibilties of stories that a place like Japari Park can deliver, but this season it's a failure. 4.5/10 when the first season was a solid 9.5/10.

level 1

Omg kaban and serval relationship ruined😭😭

level 1

No Tatsuki, No Tanoshii.

level 1

Caracal is the key to all of this, if we can get her working. Cause she's a funnier character than we've had in the past.

where's that big submarine cerulean?

the story is a bit meh. but i love the character design, especially doggo and the crocs

New protagonist out of nowhere, many years in the future. New MC has no memories too. She groups with Serval and Caracal to find her home/territory using the only thing she has with her, kindergarten drawings. Each episode they explore one of territories in the drawings and the new/old friends they find out. In one of those adventures they find a crazy and very aggressive friend, they manage to run away. They find Kaban, who turned into a doctor after separating from Serval for an unexlplored reason many years ago, serval lost ALL the memories from her too (Kaban did not). For some reason Kaban never tried take the old relationship with her back (very fitting with the Kaban character we knew ... ). Weird ceruleans still appearing, Kaban is exploring it. After many years of fruitless research New MC gives important clue to solve the case after 5 minutes. They keep the journey. After they leave, Kaban finds out that the New MC drawings are helping the weird ceruleans to take form of friends, making them more dangerous than usual. Last episodes. New Mc gift a big drawing of all friend she knew to a new friend, they need to take it back. All friends group fighting ceruleans while they are taking the drawing back. They do. Day is saved but they still have to fight the many ceruleans that appeared. Weird and aggressive friends appears and "help" them. Now is over. They go to the beach. The sunset is there. Kaban while alone with Serval says they do a good group and ask if Serval thinks they were a good group in the past too. Serval plays the "I didn't hear you, what did you said" card and turn back. They said they farewell to each other with tears in the eyes. Serval goes to the New group while Kaban start to cry and the happy music of the first season start to play. Series end. Very bittersweet. We still don't know how Serval forgot about Kaban or how they got back to Japari park.

So… you mean all that foreshadowing went nowhere. There's no plot resolution. We have no idea who Kyururu is, nor why the Beast is important…And you bring back that dumb gap jump and the first season's OP ?

I felt absolutely nothing at this episode. Nothing ! That's a feat in itself.Does this anime even try to respect itself anymore ?

To clarify why I dislike this anime:

  • It shouldn't rely this much on Season 1 if it wanted to question everything we know so far about Ceruleans and Kaban's skills.

  • Kyururu is *very* petty, and some of the friends have a very annoying way of forcing their ways onto others. This is totally a personal opinion, but I don't like that uneasy atmosphere where there's something that was done wrong. I'm referring to Red Panda's lie, Caracal's argument

  • Sometimes, it's just Kyururu is doing dumb stuff, or that the situation is just… dumb. That goes for the gap jump, the "Humans controlling animals just meant playing games", "Let's tear a paper to make a puzzle (instead of playing hand games, word games, etc…)"

  • The foreshadowing is terrible: "The ocean is in a bad mood today", "We moths will pop out of nowhere". Well, at least build up to something, tell us more about this world (since it's different). We got nothing other than more questions. Why the heck are Kyururu's pupils weird.

  • One day they'll explain why the Tiger is a Beast now, why Serval lost her memories, where Kyururu comes from, etc…

  • The soundtrack feels like the first season's with a few new tracks added. And they don't know when to place them for best effect. The fight scenes are "One touch kills", it's not really engaging.

Something I'll give them credit for: the Ceruleans are very creepy.

level 1

Let's be honest, the anime was, at last, a decent Spin-Off, it's really hard to consider it a sequel, because of the director, writer and serious lore changes. I would like to see a "Kemono Friends II S2"? maybe, but just because of the dog... Btw I would rather have tatsuki back...

As someone who haven't watched this season yet - after reading short synopsis I guess we have a strong contender to rival Kuma Miko in terms of ending

level 2

No, Kuma Miko could have been saved just by removing the last 5 minutes (wouldn't be great, but would at least be OK).
KF2's issue is not only the end, you could even say they started way before the anime even started being produced.

So it ends...

Not gonna lie, I enjoyed. In the sense that I liked. Obviously, it still had its issues, and by Kaban-sama they were many, but I still liked. I blame on the fact that I just ignored all these issues and appreciate the episode for what they were individually or one part out of two episodes instead of a whole thing.

But as a whole, this was a mess. I like the MyAnimeList approach, to put this as a alternative version because it's better this way. If this wasn't a sequel to KF1 I would've give a 7/10, just below my average but by being a sequel, yeah... No.

As a standalone, I believe it's fine. Just a cute friends doing cute friends things while journey through this abandoned park. Average, at the best.

As a sequel... Seriously, just... No.

If this ever get a sequel, which I highly doubt, I'm still gonna watch because I still have hope, I still want to know about KF world and the Friends.

But it's a shame really. This show had everything to do right and be a success, but it failed spectacularly.

Overall, 5/10 because it had its moments.

level 1

Well at least some of the character designs were really cute. Namely Roadrunner.

Everything else was... well pretty bad frankly.

level 1

I'm disappointed that Peach Panther has yet to make an appearance in the anime.

level 1

Does anyone else think that Greater Lophorina and Western Parotia can only be seen by Kyururu? Although they make an appearance in this episode, Kaban doesn't acknowledge them, and they did appear to Kyururu while she was unconscious/dreaming during episode 11, and she's alone when she meets them in episode 10.

The Birds of Paradise are seen perched in a tree at the end of episode 9 as well, though they do not interact with anyone else.

level 1

Wow, felt like Rian Johnson took the reigns and injected S2 full of subverting fans' expectations.

level 1

The show itself is below par or mediocre at best. If we take everything into consideration, including that Tatsuki was replaced with a new director who made inappropriate tweets and whatnot, then it becomes clear why so many people hate it to the point that it scored the worst on niconico live.

As the title suggest. I made Megumin’s thighs out of chocolate. Here are some pictures. Last time, I made Yunyun’s thighs at 1/4th scale. That post did very well, and I had a lot of fun making them and sharing them with real people. One of the things I was asked about in the original post was to do Megumin’s. And in my response, I said

I did say I'd like to do Aqua's life size so I guess doing Megumin's thighs life size would be a good thing to do along the way.

But I also said how much of a process it was to make Yunyun’s thighs at just 1/4th scale. So it really seemed like at the time, life sized thighs weren’t going to happen.

So how did this happen? Well, a couple months ago. I bought my own 3D printer, the Ender 3 Pro. Previously, I was using the 3D printer at my university. I bought the printer because I wanted to make my own concrete goddess statue from the Legend of Zelda. However, the model was too big to print without getting permission for an overnight print. Which is usually given to prints for an academic purpose, not for hobbyist. So, I just bought my own printer instead.

However, setting up your own 3D printer for the first time and working with concrete is kind of intimidating. So I decided to work on something in more familiar territory, which is why I returned to working with chocolate. Despite this, it was a real learning process. I never made such large prints before. At first I had a lot of suboptimal prints. But after a lot of fine tuning, I managed to get better quality prints. Ones that I could use for say, a life size replica of Megumin’s thighs.

Okay, that was a lot exposition. Now it’s time to talk about something that matters and answer a few questions:

  1. How is this Megumin’s thighs and not just anyone else’s thighs?

  2. How did you determine the size of Megumin’s thighs?

  3. How did you make Megumin’s thighs out of chocolate?

To answer your first question, they are Megumin’s thighs because I used a 3D model of Megumin. You can find that model here . Credit to XenoAism Studio for creating the model. Please support them.

Truth be told, if I didn’t say they were Megumin’s thighs, you probably wouldn’t be able to tell. Even though I went through the pain staking effort of making her skin white chocolate and her panties and her one thigh sock milk chocolate. I say there’s some both pros and cons to this. But I think it’s fine. Even if it’s not enough to convince everybody, I like to remember the one line Senjougahara said about how men can recognize women by the shape of their hips, and think “Yeah, someone out there probably could recognize whose thighs these are just by the shape alone.” Which is probably just as concerning as a person weird enough to make them in the first place.

To answer that second question, is fairly easy. I found a height chart for Konosuba characters online, and using it, I determined the width of Megumin’s thighs. Of course, Yunyun wasn’t in it, probably because the animation studio forgot to include her. So, I added Yunyun into the height chart for cross reference to my own chocolate thighs. After some measuring and rounding, I was pretty satisfied with the numbers. I found that Megumin’s thighs were 30 cms wide. I hope there aren’t any super die hard Megumin fans willing to argue over this.

Okay, the process of making these thighs. Here we go.

Originally, I was going to make Yunyun’s thighs life size since she already had a tried and ready 3D model. But after running the numbers, I found out it would take way too much money to get the chocolate needed. So I went with Megumin’s instead because it would require a lot less chocolate to complete.

After a lot of searching, I found XenoAism’s model. After scaling Megumin and removing everything from the model but her thighs, I separated her thighs into four pieces so I could print them on my own 3D printer. It took a few days, but I managed to print all the pieces. One pieces was fairly sub optimal, but that could be fixed in the next step. Where I applied wood fill to the whole 3D print and sanded it out to give it a smoother texture.

Next, I gave made a silicone mold of the 3D print. Me and my mother (who yes, willingly wanted to work on this with me) painted the silicone solution onto the mold. After a few layers of silicone, we let the mold cure for the next step. Where I plastered the mold. This would be used to give it structure so I wouldn’t be stuck with a silicone bag. I split the plastered into two halves, front and back.

After the plaster was casted. I detached them from the mold, and I cut the mold off the 3D print. I technically no longer need the 3D print, but I still keep it because why would I ever get rid of it? Anyways, when I cut the mold off the 3D print, I cut it into two halves to match the plaster halves. Which I would lay them into and then brush the chocolate onto. After some layers of chocolate, I lined the two halves together, stood them up, and started filling them with chocolate so that the parts would be connected. From there, I brushed the inner walls with more chocolate. If the model is hollow, I would need even less chocolate to finish the project and that way I could actually eat this instead of having an impossible to eat solid chocolate statue. After some time and work, I took the mold off. The results were rough but nothing I can’t work with. For the rest of this project, me and my mother refined the model by sculpting the chocolate, by means of shaving and brushing chocolate. I added a ‘lid’ to the thighs as well.

Eventually we reached the finished product you saw. We finished it on Christmas day, I guess you could say it was a Christmas miracle. But really, I had been working on it for a long time. I originally meant to finish it for the Konosuba movie premiering in the US. But I missed that. Then I meant to get it done for Megumin’s birthday. I missed that too. Now I’m just content that I did this before the end of the year.

I also finished it along side my recreation of the 2016 Limited Edition Little Witch Academia Christmas Cake. Needless to say, it was a tasty Christmas.

Again, thanks to XenoAism for their 3D model of Megumin. You can find their website here.

Thank you to my mother, for helping me complete this project even though you probably should have disowned me a long time ago.

Thank you to my friends on reddit, for watching me go through this process and talking with me along the way.

If you have any questions about this project, please ask.
