  1. Only 9 more months until the apocalypse! Happy Last New Year!

  2. The Democrats have flushed Benghazi (and so much more) down the memory hole.

  3. These are very measured steps for the secretary of defense, hardly the "rush to war" that the Democrats are complaining about, irresponsibly. They should be helping, instead, to protect US lives by enhancing our deterrence in response to a clear threat. |

  5. While Iran's thugs were attacking the US embassy, the protests in Tahrir square - against the influence of those thugs - continued. The protestors read out a statement declaring themselves innocent of the attack on the embassy. |

  8. Trump is a president who might actually stand up to the Iranian thugs. I hope so. They are not as strong as they and their apologists pretend, yet the US, historically, has let them get away with murder, literally.

  9. Here’s the actual clip. . It is not all that surprising but interesting nonetheless that the militias feel no need to pretend that they are independent of Iran. If they don’t, we certainly shouldn’t.

  10. - The soldier of Haj Qassem, and proud! - The leader of a-Hashd al-Sha'bi [the official Iraqi umbrella org that ties together the pro-Iran militias] is proud to be a soldier of Haj Qassem? -Yes. Yes I am soldier of Haj Qassem, and proud to be. It’s a grace of god.”

  12. A clip of Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis has gone viral among his followers. Muhandis is of course the leader of Kata'ib Hizballah, which the US attacked in response to the killing of an American. He was present at the embassy today. Here he is in the past with Qassem Soleimani.

  14. Here’s the moment when the Iran-backed militias “forced” their way into the Green Zone. The Iraqi security services at the gate appear to have offered only perfunctory resistance |

  15. An alternative approach would be for the West to band together and work to hobble Iran. The West has met bigger challenges successfully in the recent past.

  16. The funniest line in list of bad things that Trump supposed to have caused is: "Iran restarts their nuclear program." As if they stopped it under Obama. Total fiction.

  27. Interesting factoid. Graffiti on the US embassy compound (and elsewhere around Baghdad where the pro-Iranian militias are active) says "Uncle passed by here." "Uncle" is reportedly a nickname that the militias use for Qassem Soleimani.
