Please read and my share my latest piece for : American Strikes in Have Just Made a Bad Situation Worse.

  2. This is a truly unhinged tweet. If Iraqis actually took this orange clown seriously then the streets of would turn into rivers of blood.

  3. In 1991, an American president called on Iraqis to rise up. It ended in hundreds of thousands of Iraqis being slaughtered by a dictator while American planes flew overhead.

We’ve got a late submission but this might be the winner for quote of the year:

  5. Iraqi security forces seem to be regaining control of the situation around the American Embassy in . They’ve managed to push protestors away from most of the compound’s exterior, but not before they set fire to two of the gates.

  6. “Faaack you” *hip thrust* I’m just about done with this whole thing 😂

  7. Step 1: Keep bombing US interests in until you hit a nerve. Step 2: Wait for the inevitable American response. Step 3: Storm the embassy in the Green Zone. Step 4: 🤔

  8. This is actually wild. The airstrikes didn’t just kill and injure members of Kata’ib Hezbollah but also Iraqi soldiers and policemen. You bombed Iraqis on Iraqi soil. You did so after the Iraqi PM expressly told you not to do it. Where was the meaningful relationship then?

  9. “Leave us to live in peace.”

  10. I’m pretty sure. The guys in green fatigues are Hashd. The lads in black have been patrolling the exterior of the embassy, trying to tame the chaos.

  11. What Baxtiyar conveniently doesn’t mention is that these two soldiers are Iraqi security forces that are actually protecting the embassy. But whatever, carry on.

  12. Who’s gonna explain to these airheads that [🇱🇧] Hezbollah and [🇮🇶] Kata’ib Hezbollah aren’t the same entity? 🤦🏻‍♂️

  13. 1. While many of them are Hashd members (wearing fatigues), most of them are actually the family members of those killed by the airstrikes. They came from the funeral. 2. Calling them “militias” when they’re unarmed is pushing it. A militia is a military force. Thanks you 🙏🏼

  14. Little Marco has spoken and the Republic of Iraq shall listen.

  15. Your airstrikes killed and wounded members of the Iraqi Army and Police, not just members of a group tied to Iran. Now you need the Iraqi Army and Police to protect your Embassy. That’s a bit on the nose, orange boi.

  17. “PM declares a state of mourning for 3 days for the lives of the martyrs of our armed forces, from the members of the 45th/46th Bdes & members of the army & police, following the unjust assault they were subjected to in Al-Qaim. We belong to Allah & to Him we shall return.”

  18. The situation is about to get a whole lot worse: American soldiers have fired tear gas at the “protestors” outside the American Embassy in . [Feel a bit silly calling them protestors when most of them are wearing military fatigues 🙄]

  19. For weeks, anti-government protestors tried to enter ’s Green Zone but were held back with shocking levels of violence. But these gentlemen were allowed to stroll into the GZ and walk right up to the American Embassy without a single obstacle in their way. Interesting.

  20. Protestors outside the American Embassy in aren’t there for a quick visit. Tents have gone up.

  21. Qais Al-Khaz’ali, the leader of Asa’ib Ahl Al-Haq (paramilitary group) got his hands on the sign. That look 😂

Things are spiralling out of control and this guy is still Prime Minister. Let that sink in...

  23. US Embassy, . Pro-Kata’ib Hezbollah protestors chanting: “God is great, America is the Great Satan!” On the other side of those windows are armed American soldiers.

  24. Ffs, this was meant as a joke but it wasn’t far off. PM just announced 3 days of mourning for those killed by the American airstrikes in western . Meanwhile, the US Embassy is about to become a war zone. The man is permanently living inside his safe space.

  25. American Embassy in . A sheet of glass is preventing absolute mayhem right now.

  26. BREAKING: Footage of US soldiers guarding the American Embassy in and protestors separated by a pane of glass. Voice heard urging people to move back.

  27. BREAKING: The claim that the American embassy was evacuated was false and embassy staff are still inside the building while the ambassador is currently out of , according to .

  28. White House lawyers are probably explaining to Trump right now that nuking Baghdad isn’t an appropriate reaction.

  29. Yes, the pro-Iran camp in Iraq has been utterly devastated. In other news, the pro-Iran camp in Iraq just evicted the American ambassador and his staff from their own embassy.

  30. Khaz’ali, ‘Amiri, Fayyadh, the Engineer have all descended upon the American Embassy in Baghdad. What are the odds of Soleimani turning up for a selfie?

  31. This feels like the beginning of a very sticky situation.

  32. Protestors burning the outer walls of the American Embassy in .

  33. BREAKING: American embassy staff and the American ambassador in have been evacuated as pro-Kata’ib Hezbollah protestors continue demonstrations outside the embassy in the Green Zone. I guess people aren’t taking the whole airstrikes business very well 🤷🏽‍♂️

  34. Hundreds of pro-Kata’ib Hezbollah “protestors” have (somehow) entered the Green Zone in central & are currently demonstrating outside the American Embassy, following the US airstrikes. Hadi Al-‘Amiri & Qais Al-Khaz’ali among the crowd. KH flags placed on embassy walls.

  35. You killed individuals from a country that is hosting thousands of your soldiers, on the soil of said country, in order to punish ayatollahs in another country? The unwavering bloodlust of neocons is truly a sight to behold.

I spent yesterday afternoon in Baghdad’s Shola district. It isnt hard to see why people have had enough of having to settle for the status quo. While cleanliness is a community’s responsibility, the lack of services & paving by Baghdad Mayorality is disheartening to say the least

The holds the Americans to a higher standard than the Iranians.

  38. Saddam’s brutality was responsible for the deaths of millions of Iraqis. Millions. Multiple wars, endless massacres, horrific barbarity, hundreds of thousands buried in mass graves, ethnic cleansing, religious suppression and abject poverty for millions more. Blessed day.
