    This was the 16th SVBIED attack carried out/attempted by HTS this year. During the battle of Khan Shaykhoun earlier this year, the group used 15 SVBIEDs between May 8th & August 29th - One every week, on average. The majority (10) were used in the month of August though

    As rebels know they will evac certain sets of villages in the next days, why not ask 3 inghimasi to hide, equip them with 1 month supplies, some IED's, 1 NV and silencers for clandestine actions behind the lines.. Not lacking time, ammo, volunteers. Just imagination.

    Once Maraat is evacuated fully it would be insane if the commanders decided not to order inghimasis to dig in here and offer a dedicated last stand using the buildings as their fort.

    Rebel forces seem to have no confidence in their ability to defend Maarrat and other towns along M5. They are putting facing-saving resistance with minimal losses.

    Ramadan al-Haji, overall commander of the Sabbour Groups, was wounded in Um Jalal on 12/20. On 12/21 the Nadaf Groups lost at least 15 men. They were killed by the SVBIED in Ruffah & when a nearby ammo depot exploded. The group only had ~135 men total.

    Indeed. If a dozen Istishhad ops were coordinated with few counterraids this could collapse a whole offensive and sector. Complex attacks/combined arms to exploit Assadist routs.
