    Even in the Western World this dichotomy makes sense no more. First of all among western political party. For example who could say the German SPD or the French PS are leftist parties ? Both have been strong proponent of deregulation in economy and destruction of workers rights.

    lol ! Syrian fighting in their country for their survival and their freedom are "Mercenaries" The same people who will call US citizens fighting on the other side of the planet and paid for it "professionals" motivated by "duty" and a "sense of sacrifice".

    The morale of Syrian soldiers seems very low. I heard stories at Tel Tamr of soldiers fleeing from attacks of the Turkish-backed mercinaries. When YPG units informed regime officers they were staging operations nearby, the officers asked them not to for fear of counterattacks.
