Lot of opposition to the Caesar sanctions bill for how severely it will impact the Syrian economy and preclude reconstruction - but let's be very clear what kind of predatory, extortion-based regime reconstruction would benefit, in the hopes that some resources might trickle down

  13. Gonna keep Syria opinions to myself from now on. I already have so much documentation on here anyway and everyone knows how I feel. No need for me to rant like a crazy person anymore.

I wrote a column about how western powers need to pick up their own trash in the Middle East - by taking back the ISIS fighters born and radicalized in London, Paris, Oslo, Brussels, etc., who came to the ME to live out their nihilistic fantasies

I go back and forth on whether to go on Fox News. The main reason I haven’t is squaring the fact that the ad revenue from it bankrolls a white supremacist sympathizer to broadcast an hour-long production of unmitigated racism, without any accountability whatsoever.

I'm afraid it doesn't matter much. Syrian oligarchy exists because the regime does, not the opposite. Crony capitalism is not the infrastructure of the regime but an outgrowth of it. As for non-cronies, they're too small to make a difference

Occasionally, it's good to remind people that Palestinian Americans exist and that the president and Congress regularly take actions that target us for simply exercising our rights in this country.

  23. Millions of Syrians are now in exile because you obliterated their entire communities for protesting against you.

  24. It was a struggle for freedom from your death squads, who were sniping children in the streets and launching a massive rape campaign.

  25. That's why Russia's troops are the ones lynching Syrians for trying to escape your army.

  26. You were shooting unarmed protesters, torturing children to death, and using heavy artillery to bring down homes on top of people living in them.

He couldn't wait! Once Mosul was retaken from ISIS, he went back, renovated his 100 year old house in Old Mosul. Now, his birds and grandchildren are playing in this beautiful house. hats off to Mr. Hazim!

  34. This maybe a bit radical these days, but I think that all militants/governments who kill innocent people are bad. Crazy huh? Yeah that mentality of calling out all war criminals and not just the ones you hate barely seems to exist anymore.

Education under bombardment, a bone-chilling video!! Personally, I cannot remain silent while seeing these scenes, I am from Deir Ezzor, but the people of Idlib are my people, and are in the heart of the revolution. We will not disappoint you and let your voice disappear.

  36. Not only that but they've completely destroyed their image and Legacy. As a Syrian I will forever remember that Noam Chomsky supported Russia's invasion of Syria on behalf of Bashar al-Assad.

  37. Always had a strong dislike for anyone in power, let alone anyone who abuses it.

  38. It's amazing how people will call you an al-Qaeda sympathizer just for criticizing Assad. Like what? Just because I don't like the guy who drops bombs on people waiting in-line for bread means you think we're gonna do a fucking 180 and support other war criminals?

Never forget Chomsky advocated for 🇺🇸 intervention in Rojava to protect ‘decent Kurds’ and was adamantly against it in Aleppo because Arabs aren’t decent Is my guess. He also believes 🇷🇺 military intervention in Syria wasn’t imperialist because regime invited them. 👍🏽discourse
