    This is a failure to understand the goals of the oppressor and the imperial Russian forces. It is not surrender they seek, it is the absolute obviation of all those who dare to speak or who have not yet dared to speak but might.

    I just can’t understand it! Why on earth they don’t hand it over to forces & save civilians the misery! Knowing that eventually they will! Why dont they learn from ? They aint going to fight & wont come to rescue anyone & wont stop bombing!

    Lot of opposition to the Caesar sanctions bill for how severely it will impact the Syrian economy and preclude reconstruction - but let's be very clear what kind of predatory, extortion-based regime reconstruction would benefit, in the hopes that some resources might trickle down

    regime’s Parliament passed new changes of the conscription law, the regime now can seize movable and immovable assets of men who are eligible for the conscription but didn't do it and they became older than 42yo until they pay 8k $ to remove seizure

    I go back and forth on whether to go on Fox News. The main reason I haven’t is squaring the fact that the ad revenue from it bankrolls a white supremacist sympathizer to broadcast an hour-long production of unmitigated racism, without any accountability whatsoever.

    I'm afraid it doesn't matter much. Syrian oligarchy exists because the regime does, not the opposite. Crony capitalism is not the infrastructure of the regime but an outgrowth of it. As for non-cronies, they're too small to make a difference

    Not only that but they've completely destroyed their image and Legacy. As a Syrian I will forever remember that Noam Chomsky supported Russia's invasion of Syria on behalf of Bashar al-Assad.

    Like with Seymour Hersh, these guys all did terrific work 30+ years ago and now are just way out of their element, and refuse to ever just take the L.
