It’s sad that a chunk of the US-based Syrian opposition has resorted to pushing sanctions. The economy here in Syria is plummeting. The price of the lira has gone from around 550 to 820 per dollar in two months. Anyone who thinks this will lead to overthrowing Assad is dilusional

The critique has nothing to do with whether or not Assad should be “allowed” to bomb Idlib, etc. it’s that the sanctions will hurt regular Syrians, not him.
