    The MoD will disband the unit where Ramil Shamsutdinov served. Apparently, Sergei Shoigu heavily criticized subordinates for allowing a Shamsutdinov to be assigned to his role, and wants only contract servicemen to serve in security units. 15/

    A court in Leningrad ordered the MoD to pay 3 former conscripts a total of 6 million rubles for wounds sustained during an exercise in September 2017 when a T-72 fired its cannon on them. Another conscript was killed during the incident.

    Once equipped with Kinzhals, these two naval aviation regiments would be able to quickly re-base their MiG-31 interceptors (presumably, they will receive MiG-31K) at different airfields across Russia's northern territory, which would allow them to better cover the NSR. 3/

    Gerasimov mentioned in his speech this week that the Kinzhal had been tested in the Arctic and that Russia was expanding its network of airfields capable of handling aircraft equipped with the Kinzhal. This will likely include Nagurskoye Airfield on Franz Josef Land. 2/

    Izvestia reports that Russia is planning on equipping its naval aviation MiG-31BM units, the 317th and 98th Independent Composite Aviation Regiments in Kamchatka and Murmansk, with Kinzhal missiles, which will help them cover the Arctic more effectively.

    successfully fired 'air version' missile from the Su-30 MKI today. The launch was smooth with the missile following the desired trajectory and achieving a 'direct hit' on a sea target off the Odisha coastline.
