    If you see the footage from Maarat al-Numan tonight then you have to wonder why the media in EU and US are reporting NOTHING about the heinous war crimes committed by Putin and Assad in Idlib. This should be treated as the most important story right now, because it is.

    If only 5% of resources was allocated to activating sleeper cells in regime held areas! That would bring more value than the 95% allocated to domesticated "armies" and factions.

    My impression is: Rebels play it to conventional. Assad attacks. After initial resistance ALL (!) rebels evac. Assadists take over and establish a new front. Zero rebels left behind the front, so zero danger for Assadists behind the front. Now compare this to PKK/IS style.

    think some groups that are carrying out IEDs and assassinations are HTS linked but it should be stronger of course it's the same for Turkey not using people that oppose the PKK could wreak havoc

    A major weakness & strategic blunder of is the total neglect of operations behind the enemy lines. No asymetric warfare efforts behind the front. No sleep cells, no stay behind units wreaking havoc on enemy LOC's & supply. No /sticky bomb ops. No rear Istishhad OP's.

    Operations began today. Not clear what the true scope will but so far I’m told 2,000 / 25th Division men as well as units from the 5th Corps & Republican Guard (both long deployed here) are taking part.

    If Capitol Hill were interested in bringing its actions into even a loose connection to the values it celebrates when performing in its reality TV show, it might suggest working with our ally Turkey to impose a no-fly zone on Idlib. That would stop the killing and wouldn’t cost

    Sad to read about ’s interaction with law enforcement. He’s one of the leading experts on ISIS documents. Surely authorities have enough actual ISIS suspects on their hands and don’t need to waste time harassing an analyst helping the world understand ISIS better.

    I assume the following: * One front is defended by who simply lack * is supplied by Turkey but banned from using them in certain sectors/can't 'lend' an ATGM team. * Lack of strict command & control/strategy tempts local unit to an opportunist target aquisition
