    People keep arguing the current state of US/NATO-Turkey relations is at its worst. It actually isnt. The only difference is that thanks to the Internet & social media, we merely get more and real-time information about all that's going on, leading to a distorted intensity effect.

    I've lost my ability to can on US-Turkish relations, esp. after literally writing the book on how Americans, Europeans and Turks have been at each others' throats over the Kurds through the 1990s. 'No longer NATO ally', 'cut all ties', 'ehmargerd Ä°ncirlik', et al.

    'Reconsidering US-Turkish relations' before it was cool; I guess. This was, I think, the 27th consecutive call to kick Turkey out of NATO since Turkey joined NATO in 1952. A toast to future reconsiderations. šŸ„‚

    3. SICSS ikinci haftası proje gruplarının kurulması ve makale/konferans bildirisine dƶnĆ¼k yeni projelerin geliştirilmesine ayırılıyor. Dolayısıyla her katılımcının hedefi bilimsel Ƨıktı ve bu Ƨıktıların temin edilmesini sağlayacak uzun vadeli araştırma işbirlikleri kurmak olmalı.

    2. SICSS tam gĆ¼n sĆ¼ren ve 100% zaman/enerji isteyen bir program. Bu sĆ¼rede başka bir işi olan (işinden izin alamayacak), 2. hafta başka bir yere gidecek, sadece belli saatlerde katılacak veya x, y, z sebebiyle 100%'Ć¼nĆ¼ veremeyecek olanlar iƧin Ƨok uygun bir program değil.

    Programda Ƨok keyifli vakit geƧiyor, ancak bu sene 3 konuyu Ƨok sıkı tutmaya karar verdik. 1. Kabul edilenler, SICSS ƶncesi 2-3 haftalık tam zamanlı ƶn hazırlığı yapmak zorunda, ƶteki tĆ¼rlĆ¼ sınıf aynı hızda ilerleyemiyor. Bu şu demek: SICSS dƶneminin 1 ay ƶncesini boş bırakın.

    Ki bu bizi ana konumuza getiriyor: SICSS bir programlama yaz okulu değil. Programlama tekniği kadar bu tekniğin sosyal bilimlerin temel kuram ve argĆ¼manlarını, Ƨalışma ƶlƧek ve odağını nasıl etkilediğinin de peşindeyiz. Odağımız her zaman sosyal bilimler; mĆ¼hendislik değil.
