Probably because it IS political? Let's face it. Every single time, anything bad about China gets front page even if not related
Well .. China is literally committing Holocaust 2.0 right now. People said never again... yet here we are.
Holocaust 2.0
The first one was a spook. 2nd time's the charm.
Nah, man, pretty sure weβre on the 4th time, now:
- Armenians Genocide (Ottomans): 1.5 million 2: Unnamed concentration camps (Japan): 14 million 3: Holocaust (Germany): 11 million 4: Uighur Genocide (China): in process
Edit: Cambodia: 2 million
Edit: Holodomor, Rwanda, Uganda, The Congo, Zaire, (the Great Leap Forward?)
Let's not forget the the Russian Communist Revolution once Stalin took complete control.
Or the first Chinese genocide in the name of communism.
Let's see: Rwanda, Uganda, The Congo and who could forget that one time country Zaire.
Genocide or Holocaust. Whatever you want to call it has been happening before Germany and has continued well after.
Wait, what about Cambodia?
Yeah, I was pretty sure I missed at least one. You got me
As far as 20th century genocides go you forgot the genocide of Ukrainians
How could you leave out the USSR's intentional mass starvation and genocide of the Ukrainian people? It's literally called Holodomor ("to kill by starvation") and estimates for ethnic Ukranian deaths range from 3.3 million to 12 million people.
Armenian βGenocideβ didnβt happen. now downvote me eurodogs
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn (1918-2008), Nobel-Prize-winning novelist, historian and critic of Communist totalitarianism:
"You must understand. The leading Bolsheviks who took over Russia were not Russians. They hated Russians. They hated Christians. Driven by ethnic hatred they tortured and slaughtered millions of Russians without a shred of human remorse. The October Revolution was not what you call in America the "Russian Revolution." It was an invasion and conquest over the Russian people. More of my countrymen suffered horrific crimes at their bloodstained hands than any people or nation ever suffered in the entirety of human history. It cannot be understated. Bolshevism was the greatest human slaughter of all time. The fact that most of the world is ignorant of this reality is proof that the global media itself is in the hands of the perpetrators."
The worst genocide in history wasn't the Holocaust ... in fact, it was perpetrated by members of the very same group of people who claim they were the victims of one. And it took the lives of 66 million (Solzhenitsyn's estimate of those who perished between 1918 and 1957), not 6 million.
That's your counterargument against rules?
Never again.... unless we can profit from it.
They constantly allow shit like βTIL Bernie Sanders said Xβ or βTIL Elizabeth Warren voted for Yβ
The problem isnβt the rule, this site would be way better if most subs had βno politicsβ rules, the issue is how selective they are with enforcing the rules.
So why is the assumption that they're on China's payroll instead of the far more likely explanation, which is just poor moderating?
Because China owns a large share of Reddit.
*A Chinese company owns a large share of reddit -- you'd have to be making a serious leap to imply that a) reddit is thus under editorial control of the Chinese government and its somehow been kept totally under wraps and that b) the mods of TIL are also under control of the Chinese government, and that has also been kept totally under wraps. And then you'd have to have a reason for those to both be more likely than poor moderation as the reason for the removal.
Chinese corporations are complicit in the chinese government's atrocities. You don't get to be a billion dollar company in china without direct compliance and relationships within the government.
Murdering people for their organs is political?
Don't be political! Don't drag our country into war with europe! It's an internal German matter and they have to sort it for themselves!
Tbf, Germany didnt have a nuclear deterrent.
Here's a link to the deleted thread:
I posted til about iv bags costing like 500$ in us even though it costs like 1$ to make them and it got removed for being political so this is not weird
Itβs not political though. Itβs medical.
I'd say it was still political as it shows the government is happy to allow an extortionate mark up on the price of cheap and necessary piece of equipment
What a pansy safe space where the slightest thing that can cause a stir in the water causes everyone to shutter their windows and hunker down because things are getting "too political".
I know Japanese, German, Chinese and of course English. You know how I know Reddit is ran by China? All other language subs have very intense criticism of their respectful nation-state. Both against the government and the culture. But only Chinese, are highly praising and admiring their own government , country and culture. The West are losing. Start from the internet.
They canβt criticize their government. I admire some of china ideals and culture but I feel like Hong Kong is gonna end very badly.
I understand. What I mean is even Americans criticizing themselves being ignorant and and gun violence; Englishmen criticizing themselves being slick; Japanese criticizing themselves being aloofness and indifferent to the outside world etc.. But when I look at Chinese posts, there are almost no single criticism of their own cultures. The nationalistic problem is both on governmental level and social level.
They can't directly access this site from inside China, so that should be mostly expatriates and such posting there. Odd that it's apparently not.
- The Great Firewall is not insurmountable, and there are over 1 billion people in the country. I imagine that there are a decent number who access Reddit anyway.
- We know that fedposting is a thing in the US, and the JIDF is a thing, and the governments in Russia, Iran and Venezuela have all been documented running their own social media political/psy-op campaigns, so I can imagine that the government in China may be doing something similar on sites like Reddit.
REDDIT DEFENDS ORGAN HARVESTING
They literally are. Look at the replies. They said itβs political. Organ harvesting isnβt political.
Disassembling those who don't contribute to the hive for the benefit of those who do is paramount.
Duh.
Once you understand that everything the Chinese do is insectile it all makes perfect sense.
The Chinese are insects.
What a retarded take.
This is weird.
News stories of that get on the front page with no problem.
Everything on til is politically charged
for fuck's sake it was removed because it was related to politics
Itβs medical. Political how???
I don't think it should have been removed either, but people can insert a political angle into literally everything to suit any given agenda. That's what was done here, and the trend in general doesn't have an easy solution.
Agreed. It got to much attention and was taken down. If that post had one comment in it that was political.. technically I guess that counts. But this new society of banning anything .. its a bad look. People in other countries used to think of us as a world power and the bastion of free speech. Now we only let one party and one set of ideals be heard. Who knew that it was gonna be Jim Watkins as the last man standing
Whats Rule 4?
Related to politics. Itβs medical. Organ harvesting.
Is it like a Chinese law? Sorry under informed guy here:(
Almost like itπ±π±π± might not belong on that sub???
anything can go on that sub as long as you learned it today
because killing people and harvesting their organs is about politics, not human rights...
"Rights" are inherently political lmao
Only because another says they are. Politics are just social constructs. "Rights" are inherently human, natural, not political. Just because one person says you can't do something, doesn't mean shit because someone can still do it.
This is a moral thing, not political.
I agree rights are important, but he's correct in that the notion of rights is inextricably and even essentially political. Eg everything even remotely about the US Constitution says this. Similarly, morals are also fundamentally political; why do you think people talk about morality and values so much in politics?
say what you want about china but this is actually a great policy.
It doesn't matter what you have done, if you commit a crime and then taken to the operating theater to have your organs removed how would you feel? I'd say pretty dead because you disagreed with something a politician said so you got executed.
You catching my drift?
Yeah some people have committed some heinous crimes but at the same time the prison system in china may as well be Auschwitz since most people there haven't committed an actual crime in terms of the western world.
political post gets removed from a sub that doesn't allow politics
gUyS rEdDiT iS dYiNg!!!!1!
Organ donation isn't political, it's medical.
"They harvest organs from political prisoners"
And ethnic and religious minorities and ordinary criminals.
