The annoying thing is that I'm small. What if a 6 foot man/women come at me?

Don't worry. You need to remember the weak points of a body (eyes, nose, throat, shin, stomach, thigh, inner elbow) and you can beat even a 6 foot person. ALSO (unless you're specifically targeted!) they want an easy target (quick & silent) most of the time if you put up a fight-

Not only watch but practice. This needs to be in your muscle memory when you're in a situation like that, I know i'd just freeze in panic otherwise

Yes. Practice practice practice.

so many women don't take self defense classes or do martial arts because they think it's for men. PLEASE TAKE CLASSES. THE WORLD IS A DANGEROUS PLACE, ESPECIALLY FOR WOMEN. YOU CAN NEVER BE TOO PREPARED. ive done martial arts for 9 years now and it's probably the best thing +

This is a great post but people need to know that they must practice these for them to effective, esp if the weight and height difference between you and the attacker is great. It needs to be instinctual bc you're using the moment and panic makes your reactions slow.

Fr it’s not like suddenly after watching this one time all the girls are gonna turn into Bruce Lee and are gonna be able to take down a 6 ft 200 lb man

And, if all else fails and you freeze up and can’t perform anything despite practice, it’s always good to remember vital places tend to be very sensitive— I would go for the eyes. Thumbs in, popping motion, and try not to think about it if and when you have to do it.
