I realise the ache I constantly felt as a child whenever I contemplated dinosaurs - the ache that these marvellous, beautiful creatures no longer existed - was the expression of a presumption I have never really outgrown: that change, even if it is progress, must also mean loss.

This is really desperate from The Mirror and just does not happen.I work as a volunteer in a busy A & E and babies are immediately triaged and sent to Paediatric for treatment. Why do Labour keep talking down our NHS because it is the envy of the World.

P.S. confirmed she is a nurse at Leeds hospital & am working on encouraging her to go public. She is understandably afraid of attacks/losing her job. To confirm CCTV footage must be viewed & other accounts taken. From what I've been told, you might see the conclusion tomorrow.

Update 2: Child originally sat on lap but also had a chair. Child was tired in waiting room & flitted between lap & chair. Bed available in the hospital - but (as any patient experiences) had a short wait beforehand. During this time, child placed on floor & photo taken.

Confirmed that my source is indeed a nurse from the hospital. Her account: 'Every member of staff' there at the time knows that 1.Yes it was busy. 2. No, the child was not treated on the floor. 3.A bed WAS available. 4.The child was 'placed' on the floor for a photo. Will update.

  9. No nurse would have put him on the floor. He needed to be kept upright to help his breathing.

Today saw concerted attempt by Labour activists to intimidate me and my team. This is completely unacceptable at any time, particularly around an election. We will not be daunted. We must defeat this aggressive intimidation. The best way to do that is

Three cheers for the gentleman waiting outside Leeds General Infirmary who takes the opportunity to quietly ask the man yelling outside a hospital "Would you shut up, please?"

It’s shocking that TV News editors are broadcasting a shoddy political stunt, having first edited out all of the pertinent facts.

Labour are basically slandering the good name of the NHS nurses in that hospital. I would be furious!

Fake photo, fake indignation. And now a fake news.

  18. Can anyone tell me how to forward or share a DM?

  19. He was not “forced to lie on a pile of coats”. The parents staged it. A Great Ormond St nurse has explained to me in detail how it is “100% faked”. That poor child used as a political pawn!

I would lay myself down first and be a mattress for my poorly child. Last thing on my mind as a mother would be to take a photo for the newspapers

  21. So I have detailed explanation from paediatric nurses explaining why photo of child on the floor is “100% faked”. I will put in on Weds. Stage a photo. Cause outrage. Castigate people who doubt it for showing insufficient compassion. Jesus.

  22. Retweeted

Absolutely. I worked for the NHS for 40 years and I know this would never happen. Children are prioritised in A&E. The hospital is at fault, not the government. Strange how Labour activists were present just to add more fuel to the fire.

The hospital confirm they were in a treatment room without a bed. The mother confirms that she put the boy on the floor. Then - as any mum would do - she took a photo and sent it to the media. Today, Hancock was there and Momentum organised a flash mob. It is all a set up.

  24. Retweeted

You might ask why we don’t let people lie on the floor? 1) infection control: the floor is filthy. 2) health and safety: A&E is busy with heavy trolleys moving everywhere all the time. Also a person on the floor is a trip hazard and impedes emergency response to other pts.

What's not being said here, is that this incident happened last Tuesday 2 December, and has only come to light today, 3 days b4 election and day Hancock visiting. Activists at scene with taxis paid for and whatsap group rallying them (Guido has the evidence)

  28. Lots of paediatric nurses say the child on the floor with a mask was staged. It would never happen.

And now she’s shopping this conspiracy theory, acquired from some third-hand account on Facebook, to legit journalists in the hope it’ll blow up. Gross.

The problem is they know that there are far too many gullible people out there who will just take it at face value. Damage done. Move on to the next bit of propaganda/lies. This election has been appalling and I fear the next few days will get worse. Using children 😡

I remember taking my kids to A & E at a similar age. No way, after reading about MRSA-related deaths, would I let my kids go near the floor or the toys. Floors anywhere are usually not clean, but with the germs present in hospital environments, it meant keeping well away.

  35. Retweeted

True - but why then politicise their own child by sending a pic to the media. Most parents I’ve worked with would complain to staff, and ask to speak to senior. Then wait for someone to talk to. Constant barrage of this was one of the many reasons I left.

  36. This is it. I presume this is genuine. These days you never know:

  37. So I think I’ve just had the definitive account of what happened with the sick child on the hospital floor. I’ve tried to retweet it. If you can’t see it let me know and I’ll type it out.,

  38. Retweeted

I work in a very busy London A+E. We don’t let anybody lie on the floor as a general rule let alone a child with an o2 mask. Even if it is busy you prioritise beds for those that need them. This is sick propaganda.
