    Not exaggerating: Lately the SDF is emphasizing its Kurdish identity, especially since the Turkish incursion. Locals are more outraged by the lack of response to their repeated basic rightful demands. For the 1st time I'm seeing talk about resorting to violence against the SDF.

    Turns out, anybody with a few dozen dollars on their hands can buy access to Moscow's security cameras. A few hundred dollars gets you into a database that covers all of the city's cameras and has facial recognition to boot.

    This is a good point. Not dissimilar to the way tries to impose itself on Iranian protests/events in the West, getting its banners at the front for the cameras etc. (And of course MEK is used to launder intelligence for foreign governments, too.)

    Actually Kyle, the MEK has a habit of hijacking information and broadcasting them as their own. They go as far as watermarking video clips. I have seen reports from non-MEK sources that estimate that casualties at 1000 people. I highly doubt they’re the original source.

    The figure of 1,000 people killed in by the clerical regime's crackdown on the protesters is not implausible; to the contrary, from the numbers we have in specific locations, extrapolations easily reach above 1,000. But this must not be contaminated with propaganda.

    I don't doubt the WSJ reporting. Sourced to "U.S. officials", I'm sure they said exactly what was reported re 14,000 more troops to the Middle East. But why they said this, and what exactly is happening, is completely baffling, apparently even to senior administration officials.

    It's not just the WSJ story of 14,000 *additional* US forces to the Middle East that's in question (more precisely the question is where it came from, and why), but the story that *there has been* a deployment of 14,000 since May is itself dubious.
