Its genuinely fascinating to see people learn to manipulate the internet in new and unique ways
Collective action is sweet. Previous generations had this epiphany when they first crowded into factories. We're all stuck in our bedrooms instead.
Dude, like, it’s entirely possible to just start fucking things up for these corporations with fan art. Let’s do it.
Flood them with Furry-inflation-diaper porn from deviant art until they just get to depressed to continue.
Let's get them to steal official Disney art to see how fast they get sued
Lets not weaponize fanart. There was a time where even posting it was shakey ground and we have a nice peace with creators about original fan works.. But look at disney and tell me they wouldn't want to destroy lives to get your YodaXpalpatine fanart taken down.
Like this is good fun but lets not ruin livelihoods
Lol some guy propped up a shopify store. It's likely not a corporation.
Could just say they sold 28 so people think it must be a good shirt. Or I could be completely wrong
Even if it were a legitimate shop, they would be under no obligation to accurately show sales figures so anytime you see a counter like that it's meaningless.
Tbh I’m kinda tempted to buy that shirt because it’s so meta hilarious on a shirt. It’s completely surrealist bullshit when you’re wearing it.
I high key want it. That is some top-top-tier apathetic irony, which is My Aesthetic™ when it comes to shirts and underwear.
It's reassuring because it means that all of the people and orgs than want to make a quick buck and/or get more control are having it blow up in their faces. They were too lazy and cheap to fix the holes in the bots they offloaded all of their work onto and now they people they're screwing over are able to fight back to a small degree.
God, I hope the plan to turn Disney on these garbage stores works. They should also bring in the sports leagues as well.
Step one: Find chinese art-stealing shirt site.
Step two: Create image of Winnie the Pooh at tiananmen square.
Step three: "I'd love this on a shirt!"
I want the entire bee movie script on a t-shirt, in every language that is spoken fluently by at least 10 people
Ten thousand years from now, alien archeologists will find this cursed rosetta stone and use it to decipher all our remains.
This is not every language, but I mean.... https://www.redbubble.com/people/iam90/works/24018583-bee-movie-script?carousel_pos=4&p=t-shirt&ref_id=11985327&style=mens&ref=similar-designs
I want all 55 of these comments including mine to be on one singular T-shirt
Nintendo would also be a good copyright-overprotective copyright candidate too
I remember how they claimed they would shut down any channels with soundtracks from their games, so they are really focused on their copyrights. I guess I don’t blame them, but at the same time, that’s going way too far, especially with what they’ve done before.
Companies using AI to troll through people's social media in order to create and sell products just to that person.
A star wars theory YouTube channel has baby yoda shirts and I wish I could contact him, like they will destroy his life
Oh shit I bought a shirt from that site years ago! Had no clue it had stolen artwork
So how do you find the shirts though? I wanna do this but I don't wanna go search up some weird ass shirt sites
And if you believe that, I have some hot singles in your area who want to meet you!
I made a picture and said I wanted a t-shirt multiple times on different accounts on it how do I know if it's on the site
I worry about the 28 idiots who actually bought that shirt. Unless that's a lie too.
Definitely we live in a cyberpunk dystopia.
I wonder what other ridiculous things you can get the bots to put on a T-shirt
We thought that the robots would come for our lives, but they came for our wallets instead
Disney's lawyers must be the Infinity Gaunylet of the legal world
new idea: make an image that contains every color but in a random order to make it as expensive to print as possible
I don’t find this reassuring, mostly worrying over how companies will react.
Is this a good thing? Yes. Is this calming me though? No. I feel like companies will try to be tighter with their hold on IPs with things like this happening.
Don’t get me wrong, shutting down sites like these is a great thing, but whoof the big companies are gonna cry about it if their official copyright art is used.
It's reassuring because there are smart and motivated people out there who are using their powers for good rather than to harm people for financial gain.
Original post, since we're talking about taking things without credit.
Anyrhing without a watermark i assume ends up as some 14 year old's profile oic, which gets sent around to 40 peers, reuploaded on their social media, and makes its way to store ads and shitty Tshirts.
Yeah, it's not entirely fair to not be able to share your work on your own page. But you're also knowingly posting it without a watermark where it can be saved with a right click.
