I have been playing on Kongregate for quite a while now, and in that time I haven’t cleaned out my temporary internet files, cookies, or any of the like. I like to use CCleaner to keep my computer rid of extra files, but I haven’t run it in months because I don’t want to delete any part of a Kong game that I have saved. Where are all of the possible locations of a Kong save file, and what are all of the things I would have to except from a CCleaner sweep?

On a Windows system, Flash shared objects are stored in
C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\#Shared Objects\ In a subfolder with a unique name. Inside that folder, they are organised by website – you want to exclude kongregate.com, a.kongregate.com, chat.kongregate.com and www.kongregate.com.

It has to be there, you either looked in a wrong place or you didn’t look hard enough. Take note that ‘Application Data’ is a hidden folder, so enable hidden folders.

Would clearing you browser cache delete saves? (Does my browser being safari make a difference? Or that I’m on a Mac?)

Probably a common search result.

For windows 7 users:
C:\Users{username}\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player#SharedObjects
There’s a folder there that has all subfolders related to kongregate’s saved games (should look something like this: FKFVJZLE or something else). Add this folder to the exceptions on ccleaner and it’s good.

Thanks for the Windows 7 tips. I wonder if we can carry around our save files by copying it and pasting it to another computer.

Tested moving my save files from a Windows 7 PC to an Internet Cafe PC with XP. Saved games loads just fine. :)

Somewhere out there in the vast nothingness of space… Somewhere out there in space and time… staring upward at the gleaming stars in the obsidian sky… marrooned on a small island, in an endless see, confined to a tiny spit of sand, unable to escape. +1 musics to you if you know what that’s from.

Well, folks, a crisis.
I’m on a Win 7 laptop — in Italian — and as luck would have it, just cleared all my saved data by mistake on the Adobe website. The settings showed up in Italian. So months of progress on Gemcraft: Chapter 0 seem to be gone.
Anybody know how to restore deleted cache files from Flash player? Any temp folder where these might be at? There’s nothing in the Recycle Bin.
Thanks.
