‘Coward’ Paul Ryan admits using ‘escape hatch’ in new Trump-trashing book and becomes lib enemy No. 1

Once again, former House Speaker Paul Ryan has managed to infuriate the entire world.

The long-hated “turncoat Republican,” as some describe him, garnered the world’s unanimous rage again when excerpts from journalist Tim Alberta’s upcoming book, “American Carnage: On the Front Lines of the Republican Civil War and the Rise of President Trump,” were obtained by The Washington Post and then described in detail in a piece published Thursday.

The excerpts showed Ryan trash-talking the president. Why this angered conservatives is clear. What’s not so obvious is why this also angered liberals.

In interviews with Alberta, the former House speaker had described President Donald Trump as an uneducated buffoon who allegedly knew nothing and needed to be monitored like a child.

“I told myself I gotta have a relationship with this guy to help him get his mind right,” Ryan said. “Because, I’m telling you, he didn’t know anything about government . . . I wanted to scold him all the time.”

He didn’t, though. Instead, he kept his mouth shut but vowed to use his 2019 retirement as an “escape hatch,” because he couldn’t stand the thought of spending two more years working alongside one of the most successful Republican presidents in American history.

This revelation triggered anger from a startling number of left-wing personalities — many of them so-called “journalists” — who were exasperated by his unwillingness to stand up to the president:

The excerpts also showed that, while Ryan remained mum for the two years he spent working with the president, now that he’s out of office he’s more than willing to talk trash.

“We’ve gotten so numbed by it all,” he said to Alberta of those aspects of the president’s behavior and rhetoric that he disliked. “Not in government, but where we live our lives, we have a responsibility to try and rebuild. Don’t call a woman a ‘horse face.’ Don’t cheat on your wife. Don’t cheat on anything. Be a good person. Set a good example.”

Most Republicans appear to have dismissed these shortcomings of the president because they’re superseded by his long list of accomplishments. Ryan clearly feels otherwise.

Speaking with Alberta, the former House speaker also shared his fear that, without people like him pushing back on the president’s allegedly “bad decisions,” his presidency is getting worse.

“Those of us around him really helped to stop him from making bad decisions. All the time,” he said. “We helped him make much better decisions, which were contrary to kind of what his knee-jerk reaction was. Now I think he’s making some of these knee-jerk reactions.”

The latest “knee-jerk reaction” — one that was reportedly opposed by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and National Security Adviser John Bolton — involved the president choosing to cancel a military strike on Iran. Because of this “knee-jerk” reaction, America was spared a potential war, while Iran was spared the deaths of up to 150 people.

According to Alberta, the president had a habit of referring to Ryan as a “f–king Boy Scout.”

Ironically, conservatives responding to the Post’s publication of the journalist’s excerpts also believe the former House speaker is a coward, albeit for different reasons.

They also think he’s a “swamp rat,” among other things (*LANGUAGE WARNING):

While there’s some disagreement between Republicans and Democrats over what exactly Ryan is, it’s safe to assume that everybody can agree that he’s most definitely HATED.

What a hateful man this former Speaker of the GOP house. It is this same swamp rat who failed miserably to get off his ugly butt, and help President Trump move his agenda to MAGA. All the while, he sat on passing bills that would have done so much help to fix the problems at the border. 2 years were wasted by this creep. So now, he's selling a book full of lies and fabrications. Really? "I'm telling you he didn't know anything about government". Stupid. We all knew this great and very successful businessman did not know much about government! BTW, citizen Trump did not master a great deal about real estate development when he got into it. He had to work at it. He sure made a great big success of it. As president, Donald Trump is running this gigantic corporation call the United States Government, as he knows best how to run a business, except now he has to deal with gazillions of problems, and solving much of them, no thanks to that creep the ex-speaker. Paul Ryan, you are the biggest fool among fools. Now you have shown your true colors. You have proven that you failed miserably, as a speaker of the house, and as a patriot. President Trump is smarter, sharper, far more efficient, and a far greater patriot than you ever were. Each day that President Trump speaks and engages with a whole host of gatherings and official events, he speaks as a patriot & thinks only of doing his best to make life better for every American regardless of race, color and creed!

    • Paul. We have only one President at a time. You are not a Democrat, are you? Perhaps you are in transition? Why not wait until Mr. Trump is out of office to share your opinions for the history books? Oh. I forgot, you have a new book to sell.
