Marr was out his depth. The reason Johnson agreed to the interview. A better journalist would have done his 'homework' The bbc needs to do better.

This should be live during the interviews and they are called out on it there and then.

That would be awesome but difficult - it would require being able to know exactly what your opposite number is going to say always in order to be able to factually repudiate them that fast. I know
@FullFact (?) is working on a machine learning fact check program that can tho - 1 more reply

Why didn't you correct him ON AIR?!? Correcting him after he's already said it is ineffective and useless - the damage has already been done!

your interviewers should stop a politician at the first lie and poleaxe them with it, not let them move on to any other subject until they've repudiated it and apologised for it. Maybe they should have their own factchecker screen in front of them too. and a bit QI-style klaxon.

this is great now, one little tweak: can you like, say that when he is actually in front of the microphone into which he said that lie? i mean it would be a fantastic way to cut costs

When you say "wrong" you mean it's a lie as no question of him misremembering such an important point. In fact, you mean
#BorisTheLiar.
