It seems to be an archive site, but it never leads anywhere...just to a landing page

I got a text from a strange number with a link that redirected through megalodon.jp. But it didn't seem to go anywhere, and I canceled it before the redirect loaded.

Couldn't find anything online about it. Very strange.

Non-American here, I've just seen another depiction here in reddit and it makes me wonder, is there anything cultural about it because locally I've never drank off one in those that I've been to.

It doesn't make sense to me that the day with the least amount of sunlight would be right in between autumn and winter and not in the middle of winter.

Edit: this 45-55 year old woman is absolutely not playing video games. She smokes cigarettes all day with her cat. I’m a gamer and occasionally throw around the old damnit you fuckin bunghole when I fall off a cliff in Minecraft, but this woman is banging on her doors and walls while repeating the same phrases in the same tone every single time almost every night at about 1-2 hour intervals... now we can move on...

So my situation is exactly what the title states.

My neighbor, who lives alone, frequently laughs hysterically, pounds on her doors and walls until the whole building shakes and screams the same few phrases late at night. She often screams “You stupid fing b*! I hate you!” Repeatedly.

Based on the frequency this occurs and the fact she lives alone I presume it’s a result of mental illness. I’ve also spoken to her during the day and she seems to be a relatively normal and kind woman.

I’ve reached out to management to state that I was concerned for her and that I was a bit annoyed but it doesn’t sound like they can do anything. They did once agree to send her a text and ask her how she was doing and she stopped shortly after.

Last night I heard my neighbor across the hall approach her, mention that he’s mentioned it to management and she denied it was her, stating it was either the person above her or the woman across the hall who no one has ever seen because she’s agoraphobic.

I assume there’s nothing that can be done since it’s probably a result of mental illness. Mentally ill people have to be able to live somewhere of course and should be able to have peace at home. However, it’s concerning as a neighbor to hear what’s going on in her apartment.

I’ve gotten somewhat used to it and usually sleep with earplugs because Im an extremely light sleeper anyway so it’s not too disruptive to me, mostly concerning, and it obviously is getting on the other neighbors nerves. Is there anything that could be done other than speak to management (who obviously can’t do anything)?

Obviously, I could speak to her myself but as a small young woman myself I’m concerned for my own safety in approaching her in that state, and after listening to my neighbor speak to her it sounds like it would be pretty useless.

I want to get my wife some nice slippers/loafers. I know Ugg is supposed to be nice but I don’t know if it’s just overpriced brand bullshit. Heading over to the mall right now.

Every time I set an event I can choose a notification. Currently the defaulted are 30 minutes before and 10 minutes before by email. I want to have my default notifications to come up as 1 hour before and 1 day before and 1 week before. I have checked settings but it's not there to edit. Is there another way? Or do I have to do it manually every time?

I'm wondering if there's a name for the phenomenon of learning something new (common knowledge to a lot of people but you were late to the party) and then suddenly seeing that thing pop up everywhere. It's usually with a term or phrase.

For example, I'd never heard the term "nuclear family" until a few months ago. I feel like I've heard it a ton since.

The very oldest books today are 500-1000 years old, and are obviously of great importance to historians. 1000 years in the future could people still be reading books printed today?

I unplugged my dorm fridge but forgot to wipe it down since I was packing. Since it’s a dorm fridge, there’s no ice maker or water valve but there was ice around the fridge that will melt. I’m just worried about the water leaking out and getting on the carpet of my room too.

I’m on new medication (bupropion) and when i’m tired my eyes get weird. Watching videos on my phone is hard cause it’s kind of blurry, as I watch the video I feel like I “miss” parts of it because my eyes lose focus.

This feeling reminds me of when I tried a weed edible for the first time. It was hard to look around.

Hello r/answers

Preface: I am mildly high right now. Apologies if this is a stupid question.

My friend introduced me to TikTok a few months ago and while it is not for me, I found the videos of people "singing" songs in time with their music in ASL to be fascinating. I wish I could learn ASL but I have cerebral palsy and bad hands. Since I have never looked into the language, I don't know much about it.

I have heard that names in ASL are highly subjective and they often are like inside jokes. If you don't want to finger spell every letter of someone's name, you can do a quick sign as their name in shorthand by making a gesture in reference to that person's unique physical characteristics. Like gesturing swirls around your head to refer to your friend "Susan" who has curly hair instead of spelling "S-U-S-A-N".

But this is typically reserved between friend groups and people who all are in the loop about swirls referring to Susan. When you're talking to people who don't know this inside joke, I think (but I'm not sure!) You're supposed to finger spell the full name.

This made me wonder if the deaf community all share common signs for the names of celebrities and people that everyone knows. If they all agree on one sign, maybe. Like Marilyn Monroe maybe being referred to as a gesture to the place on her face where she had a beauty mark.

Then I thought about how "We Didn't Start The Fire" involves multiple names of famous public figures spoken very quickly.

And that's how I got to this question.
