The op title is funny because in a fashion, it's accurate.
Corporations are the collective representation and bargaining apparatus of capital. They protect and advocate for capitalists. Unions are the same for labor.
There's just been an orchestrated campaign by capital to say otherwise. To convince workers that they don't need or want the very same thing capitalists throw immense resources at.
We've literally got employers' unions here in Finland. Workers' unions were so powerful the employers had to unionize to fight them. Used to have giant trilateral (gov't, employers' unions, workers' unions) national negotiations until 2008, now it's broken up into smaller industry-wide negotiations.
