日本大学芸術学部卒業、ニューヨーク大学修士課程修了。カメラマン、アパレル・出版の仕事を経て、1997年(株)マルサン入社。ホビー事業部長・取締役を経て、マルサン六代目代表に就任。著書に『ウルトラP-昭和を暴れた怪獣たち 神永英司写真集』『マルサン物語 玩具黄金時代伝説』がある。
Studied at Art Course in Nippon University and got a master from New York University. Experienced the job of photographer, in fashion industry and publishing, he joined MARUSAN TOYS INC. in 1997. After being in charge of hobby division and having worked as an executive, he took up the position of president, which is the 8th from the founder. He is also author of “Ultra P – the monsters in Showa, photographed by Eiji Kaminaga” and “Marusan Story, legends in the golden age of toys”.
昭和28年に発売され、コレクターの間ではブリキ玩具の最高傑作との呼び声も高い『マルサン・キャデラック』。いつの時代も“究極の玩具をつくる”というのが、老舗メーカー・マルサンの理念だ。その精神は六代目代表の神永氏にも連綿と受け継がれている。
“Marusan Cadillac” – released in 1953 and, among the collectors, rated as the best tin toy in all time. The desire to make the ultimate toy has always been and will always be at the heart of Marusan, the maker with heritages. And, the spirits has been passed on to Mr. Kaminaga, the 8th representative.
とあるキッカケで五代目代表の石田和夫氏にスカウトされた神永氏。マルサンでの仕事が「自分自身の生き方になった」と語る。
It was by chance Mr. Kazuo, the 5th president, asked Mr. Kaminaga to join the company. Now, Kaminaga tells “Working at Marusan became my life.”
大ヒットしたマルサンのブリキ製キャデラック。フリクションやバッテリー、リモコンタイプなどさまざまなバリエーションが存在する。
Marusan Cadillac made of tin, which was really a best-seller. There exist varieties in movements and controllers.
現在のマルサンの主力商品はウルトラマンや怪獣モノなどのソフトビニール製玩具。ノスタルジックな造形にコレクターの評価も高い。
At present, main products of Marusan are toys of soft vinyl, such as Ultra man and monsters. They are popular for their nostalgic figures among the collectors.
