After a drama filled evening, and official statements starting to come out today, the moderators have decided to make an official megathread for any continuing discussion to take place. If you live under a rock, Scott Borchetta sold Taylor's masters earlier this year to Scooter Braun. Lots of upset, lots of arguing and statements, and basically nothing changed after it calmed down.
Oct. 28: BMR reaches out to Taylor

Taylor Swift performs in China for the Double Eleven event, and cuts out half of her set due to this requirement, performing only songs from Lover
Flash forward to last night, Taylor Swift posts this message to her Twitter (it has now become her most liked tweet ever)
What this means is that BMR is refusing her to perform or use any of her old music in any way that is being recorded or distributed. Her AMA performance, a previously completely unknown Netflix documentary, etc. She reaches out to her fans, artists signed under the label, and the Carlyle Group, which helped Scooter purchase the masters earlier for help.
Practically every small artist reaches out in support, and receives support from other celebs and people such as: AOC, Halsey, Selena Gomez, Tinashe, Camila Cabello, Gigi Hadid, Sara Bareilles, Lily Allen, Azealia Banks, Jameela Jamil, Martha Hunt, Jessica Chastain, and more

Idk I think it would be cool if you didn't make light of racial injustice like that to begin with.
There's nothing about this situation that's about race and Taylor, out of all the white female pop stars, has been careful to appease her white audience and not offend them until it was safe for her to speak up.
EDIT: I get that you were doing it to be funny, but honestly it's just tired that y'all always downplay wHiTe mEn 🤪🤪🤪 like this.

It's credited by her and Andrew Lloyd Webber both, so. But I do agree it sounds like it could have fit the original score.
The featurette where they announced the song had Andrew Lloyd Webber saying that he wrote the composition and Taylor wrote the lyrics entirely as he played it for her
